Chapter 9

Sera’s POV The mirror reflected a woman wrapped in silk and diamonds, so poised, fierce, and undeniably powerful. My mind drifted to the moment Cassian had his warm lips on mine, I wondered how his c**k would feel one more time. I felt my core heat up just at the thought of Cassian's big c**k. I had never seen another size before but his size was enormous, it perfectly suited his tall 6’5 frame. Oh gosh, there I go again. Thinking dirty about a man who ruined my life. I shouldn't be having such thoughts. Tonight was the Annual Lovers Party, and Nicho and I were the headline—the city’s current power couple, their whispered admiration and gasps following us like a living echo. Nicho was sharply handsome, with Cassian's eyes. But Cassian was Cassian. I adjusted the delicate bracelet on my wrist, feeling the weight of every eye in the room. Nicho stood beside me, tall and unshaken, but I caught the faint tremor in his jaw — the subtle disturbance I knew was there because of Cassian. Cassian. His name hung between us like a cold breeze. Just days ago, he’d announced he was dating Eva — Nicho’s ex. The woman who once held his heart, the one who’d never truly left. Nicho’s posture remained perfect — a gentleman’s grace under pressure. The room was a swarm of questions and curious stares, but he met each inquiry with that same calm, measured smile. Still, I sensed the storm beneath, restless. Gently, I slipped my hand over his, fingers curling around his palm. The warmth between us sparked, and I felt his tension ease, the rigid lines of his face soften. Our moment was cut short when Nicho’s gaze flickered toward the entrance. Cassian had arrived — and with him, Eva. Her red hair caught the light like wildfire, her dress a bold statement of beauty and danger. Heads turned, whispers quickened. But no one held my attention like Nicho. His breath hitched, the calm cracking just enough for me to see. Suddenly, he pulled me close, eyes dark with something fierce, something desperate. His lips claimed mine in a kiss that burned away the coldness in the room. The world seemed to freeze. Cassian’s eyes narrowed — jealousy bleeding through his polished mask as everyone’s attention snapped to us. I gat you this time Cassian. The kiss lingered, a quiet declaration: She’s mine. Nicho's lips were soft and possessive but I did not enjoy a bit of it, well a little. It felt different. When Nicho pulled back, his voice was soft but firm. “Excuse me.” Without another word, he slipped away toward the bar, leaving me surrounded by a sea of curious glances. Great move Nicho, let the media devour me with questions. I rolled my eyes and pretended nothing just happened. I turned away, feeling the pressure of the room seep into my skin. My gaze settled on my phone, and I scrolled through the pictures I’d collected of Eva—caught red-handed in drug deals, her smiles cold and calculating. A small, dark smile tugged at my lips. The temptation to delete them was almost overpowering—maybe it was better to let things be. But I knew better. Before I could make up my mind, Eva appeared at my side like a shadow, her voice a razor wrapped in silk. “Well, well, Sera. Still playing the broken woman, aren’t you? With your sick little child, Asthma, and those damn vision problems.” Her words hit me like a fist. How did she know about Aria? That secret was buried deep—locked away tighter than anything else. I stood there, frozen, the sting of her words cutting deeper than I wanted to admit. Eva’s gaze was cold, cruel. “Stay away from Cassian. You’ll never have him. But Nicho? He’s mine for the taking. He might be less rich, but hey… I am just here to take everything you have. Cassian, money, fame and Aria…...” Heat flared inside me. She had no idea how dangerous I could be. I was not the weak Sera anymore. I stared at her with a smirk. “Okay, good luck.” I said and turned, making my way to Nicho. I could feel her eyes glaring at me. Shooting lazers at me. Without hesitation, I lifted my phone and anonymously circulated the photos of her shady deals—the proof, the poison, the truth that would unravel her world. Eva’s shocked groan was music to my ears. Tonight, I was more than a broken woman. I was a storm. And I wasn’t done yet. I went to Nicho, I could see a frown on his face but he hid it so well. Gosh, even though he was sad. He was surely still hot as ever in his black hair and tattooed arm. What's with me and men with tattoos? Is it because of Cassian? Cassian has tattoos. I slightly shook my head. No, Cassian was my enemy. His so-called girlfriend was my target. Nicholas' pov I never thought I would see Eva's face again, especially after all those years. After she betrayed my trust and left me for another man when all I wanted was to have a family with her. I saw her walking in with Cassian, my blood boiled and I acted on reflex. I kissed Sera. What must she think of me after this? Our relationship has nearly started and I am making public moves. I gulped down two shots of vodka, something I haven't done in a while. I saw Sera walking towards me and I felt my stomach churn. She hugged me like her life depended on it. She didn't deserve this. "Are you okay?" She asked. Her innocent eyes glittering against the moonlight. "Yes, I just didn't expect to see Eva here." I scoffed. "Forget about her, it will only hurt you more." Sera gave me a pitiful look. She knew about Eva and how much she hurt me, leaving me to take care of son alone. I inhaled Sera aroma and I felt my c**k feel excited. Why was I having such thoughts all of the sudden. Gosh. After a while, I felt better that Sera was there. "Hey I have to do something real quick. I will be back." She said and strolled away in that beautiful black dress that hug her body so sexily. I was falling for her and she didn't even know. Her lips. That kiss. I turned back to the bartender who was taking care of everyone's drinks. I heard a slight cough behind me. "It seems you are now getting the habit of snooping around and getting what doesn't belong to you." Cassian said. His voice was low and dangerous. I knew better than go get on his bad side. He always had a horrible temper. "I am just taking care of a beautiful woman who deserves to be loved right." I spat, while sipping on my drink. "Listen here, if I see you anywhere near her a little too close, if you breath the same air as her. I swear to God Nicho, I will end you and I will forget you and I share the same blood. Sera is my wife." Cassian groaned, yet he kept his posture firm. "last time I checked. you divorced her." I snapped. Cassian was getting on my nerves. Why did it even bother me when he called her his wife? "Are you 100% sure about that? Nicho? You've lived with me before. By now, you should know better than to underestimate me." I clenched my fists and didn't realize I almost broke the glass. I watched him storm off. Probably to f**k some slut out there because Eva wraps her arm around him and kisses him on the lips. What a community c**k. I rolled my eyes. Eva smirked from behind and I groaned. She shouldn't affect me. She is just a slut. I sat on the cold chair for almost an hour. I gulped down my drink and followed Sera's direction. I was beginning to worry about her. I turned to the hallway and I saw her, Pinned against the wall. She didn't look uncomfortable, yet she didn't seem to enjoy it either. Cassian held her tiny hands like he was about to give her the f**k of his life. I stormed towards them and ripped him off. "Nicho what are you doing?!" Sera's voice echoed from behind me. oh s**t. I had too many drinks.
