The reception was in full swing. The tables were hung with magazine-perfect linen tablecloths and graced with dark blue napkins and magnolia centerpieces. Delicate Noritake china and beautiful silver flatware awaited each diner. And beside each place setting was a gift: a pair of tickets for the upcoming Rodeo Champion Season in Tulsa, something those who lived in around Stockton County would enjoy.
The sound of happy chatter rose above our cheerful guests. People mingled, all smiling, infected by our happiness. And Gray and I were congratulated more times than we could count.
