After Lady Noelle briefed me on the ceremony, I noticed that Red was coming back from her 'room' looking frustrated and dispirited with Alpha Abe trailing behind her looking as stoic as ever.
"Red!" She snaps her head up and hurries beside me while I glance at her mate and give him a forced smile. In this circumstance, I do not care for neutrality, My best friend does not deserve a mate who has someone else.
"Please don't say anything." She whispers and takes her place a step behind me.
I merely nod my head and turn back to the diamond encrusted doors of the palace. The coronation was set up to take place just outside the palace grounds to allow nearby packs to join the event— which also makes this risky. The rebels could attack us publicly.
