As she approached mile four, a pickup truck came up behind her. It slowed to a stop beside her and the driver rolled down his window. “Are you lost?” he asked. “You’re quite ways from civilization.” She nodded, wearily. “I got separated from my friends yesterday. I’ve been walking ever since.” “Then hop on in and I’ll take you into the next town where you can call someone.” He chuckled. “Unless you want to walk the ten miles yourself.” “You are a blessing.
