Chapter 13
A few days later, Cam sat in the waiting room outside Vicky’s office. Another man had just come in and was sitting across from her, reading a newspaper. The receptionist sat at her desk, working on her computer.
The door to Vicky’s office opened and a thin young man walked out. Vicky was behind him. “Keep up the good work, Brian,” she said to him. “I’ll see you next month.”
Brian nodded. “Thanks,” he said, then turned and walked out the door.
Vicky stood there, staring at Cam.
“Well, long time no see,” she growled.
Cam grimaced and stood up.
“You must have loved prison life,” she said, then frowned. “You’re trying very hard to go back in.” She gestured to Cam with a quick shake of her head. “Come in.”
