And Eean had decided to bury it all when he left. Turned himself into an unfeeling block of ice. In retrospect, it was the correct choice. He’d have suffocated here. And he’d never have met Ann. They loved each other today more than the day they’d said, ‘I do’. But the heaviness rested in his gut, the feeling remained. You shouldn’t have come. He’d let people down, he’d lied and shattered promises. Scared, lost and cowardly enough to never return, not really, except maybe to drop his daughter off for a holiday with her grandmother. Once had been enough for him. And it killed him to never see his daughter like that, laughing her grandfather’s laugh. She’d burrowed into herself in the city, he’d known that. But her potential… She couldn’t stay here. Should she? You shouldn’t have come.
