“How does it look?”
“Forward view totally clear, sir. All targets destroyed, threat level at zero.”
“Excellent work. Well done, everyone. Helm, back up to original speed.”
“Yes, sir.”
The captain turned to the two soldiers. “Well, at least it’s good to know the new missile system actually works as it was designed to.”
“Sorry?” Anthony frowned.
“The new missile system. It’s the first time I’ve had to use it. I didn’t actually know if it would work or not, but I’m glad to see it did.”
“Not half as glad as I am. I need a coffee.” Anthony headed for the door.
“I do believe I’ll join you, Dave.”
The captain grinned as the two soldiers left the bridge.
