The Chase Begins in Earnest
It was almost 5:30 in the morning when Ross and Ralph rode up to the area near the Arizona Territorial Prison where they agreed to meet Senor Esquerra. Both greeted him with “Buenos Dias.” He did likewise, they mounted up and rode away. No further words were necessary for any of them. It was time to go to work for Esquerra. He began to ride north toward the river right away, they followed. As he did he said to them, “Cuando (when) we came back from the southwest of town I did some looking around. I found some things I wanted to look at. You came along to ask my help just after my first look in this area.”
“What was it you saw?” Ross asked.
