It was late into the fifth day of the ride home when the two of them got back to Yuma. They were very weary. The trail had been difficult at best, but they had followed the man with the extra horses backward until they lost his tracks in the myriad of horse tracks which were located on the trails near to the town. Flora was ecstatic to see them both, and she insisted that Ralph stay at the hotel for the night. They each took baths, and each had a shave and a haircut, all arranged for by Flora. In Ross's case Flora, ever the lover of her husband, “assisted” with the bath. It was a natural thing for her to do, just as it was for her to ask one of the ladies to assist with Ralph's bath.
