Chapter 11

Alistair was sniffing.

“I can’t track it, I can’t see where it’s coming from.” I said.

“Shut up a minute.” Said Alistair.

He kept sniffing.

“I need to shift. Wait here.” Alistair said.

 He ran off to the side of the school to start undressing to shift. A moment later Alistair comes back as a large brown wolf. Alistair started sniffing around and snarled. He spoke through our wolf connection to me.

“It’s her blood.” He said as he ran towards the trees.

I ran following and saw him heading towards the tree that Aurora and I were sitting in. The smell became so strong and for a moment it felt like the strong wind had stopped. I could see her, behind the tree. In the fetal position covered in blood. Something has happened to her but one thing was clear. Aurora was not safe here.

“I’ll take her to the pack doctors.” I shouted as I scooped her up.

“I am coming to.” Said Alistair.

“You need your clothes first. I am not stopping you but I am going there now. You can catch up once you are not wolf or naked.” I said.

I turned and then ran as fast as I could. She gripped my shoulder tighter and then her grip released. I was afraid she might have lost to much blood.

“Hang on Aurora.” I whispered.

bhI ran and ran, by now my breathing was heavy and it felt like I was breathing in fire. Normally I can run home without being this sore and exhausted, but carrying the weight of someone else, let alone someone with a bit more weight than a usual she wolf. This was aching all of my muscles. This was eye opening. I know now that I need to train harder. I was weak. I reached the pack doctors while screaming to pack members.

“GET THE DOCTOR AND THE ALPHA!” I screamed multiple times.

I reached the pack doctors and tried lifting Aurora up higher to open the door but the door burst open before me. There was a bed inside the door and they took her out of my hands as they placed her down on the bed.

“Her pulse is weak.” Said a nurse.

“She has lost a lot of blood.” Said another nurse.

“Before we wheel her into the operating room, remove anything with metal so we can give the surgeon a better idea of the injury while he scrubs in.” Said the head nurse.

They had cut her pants along the sides to look for any injuries as the jeans were covered in blood. They had taken her jacket off and cut her shirt. She was laying in just a white bra that’s mostly covered in blood and white underwear. There were lots of markings of bruising along both sides of her body and there were many teeth marks and deep cuts. The nurse clicked her fingers at a lady behind reception.

“Get some swabs asap.” She called out.

The reception lady got up and ran to the storage room nearby to grab some spares. She came out with a handful of them.

“Thank you, now nurses swab every singular bite in case there is more than one that did this to the poor girl.” The head nurse said as she was opening swabs.

I watched as they swabbed every single bite and every scratch.

“Take her into the room now. I will run the tests down to the lab and put a rush on these.” Said the head nurse as she ran to the hallway.
