CHAPTER 4

ELLIES POV

I joined the slaves for the funeral. Hot tears streamed down my face.

My only friend was gone.

Everyone stared at me clearly annoyed.

I understood them.

They had no dignity neither did they have anyone.

Their families had cut ties after their hearing.

With a sigh I realized I was more like them than I could ever imagine.

I bid goodbye to my grandma after putting a lone lily on her grave.

I was 30 minutes late, which means I would be punished.

“where were you? you think we have all time to wait for u you human?”

Mary who happened to be an omega snapped.

She raised her hands as if to beat me but suddenly something in me snapped.

“ you are letting an omega talk to you like that?” a voice chided in my head.

I grabbed her hand right before she could lay it on me and twisted it.

Within seconds she was on the ground writhing.

I could not believe I had actually done that.

I moved swiftly to decorate the venue as Mary continued screaming.

Everyone seemed to fear me but I was just surprised.

Why on earth did they think we could compare.

Despite everything I came from a beta’s family

We were the second most powerful family in the pack after all.

Within one hour everything was set .

But we were far from being done.

We had to prepare food and drinks for the whole pack in preparation for the full moon ceremony.

My back was aching by the time it was 9.

The coronation ceremony was about to start, and no one was allowed to miss it.

I turned back to the house to change as everything was soiled.

I let my curls free as I changed into my green dress .

It was my birthday after all and I was going to shine f**k the execution.

I sat on the back with the slaves as I watched the ceremony start.

There on the podium was Cole majestic as ever if only he was a good person.

Kylies obnoxious voice rang across the room as she told him ow much, she loved him.

I’m not hating but everyone and their mama knew that.

Those two never failed to do inappropriate things I public.

I grimaced as I remembered walking on them in the living room.

Ever since I had not sat on that couch .

His eyes glowed red as his father handed over the power while my sperm donor did the same thing to his son.

After this everyone moved towards the clearing it was near the forest which marked the boundaries between silver moon and the Red moon pack.

They were known to be the strongest pack .

They kept to themselves that’s why no one actually knew who their alpha was .

Despite all this no one ever dared to attack them.

The only thing I was waiting for was my birthday. It was in few minutes.

Fuck the full moon and that moon goddess for making me the laughing stock.

“what are you doing here human? Go and sleep “

“ did no one tell you this an only wolf party mutt”’another one added as they pushed.

I wanted to laugh on their faces . they were calling me a mutt as if that wasn’t them.

Anyway, I was here to serve the mutts.

I joined Mary ands her group as we started distributing food and drinks.

In the center kylie and anna stood together holding a countdown for their birthday.

Well, our birthday.

I ignored them and continued my work.

All of sudden a sharp pain pierced my back.

I wanted to scream so bad but they would all laugh at me.

I sneaked out as another pang hit me.

My whole body was on fire.

For a minute I thought I was dying.

“Maybe I’m going to die during my birthday “I told myself

What a sad way to go.

At this point I was dragging my body.

Fortunately, I managed to go into hiding .

Another pang this was much stronger than the rest hit my whole body. I collapsed on the ground.

My whole body contorted in pain.

I could feel my bones breaking.

That s**t hurt like a b***h I can’t lie.

I clutched onto my grandma’s necklace as I moved to say my last words,

Crazy I know I had cussed the moon goddess more than a thousand times in the past 10 hours.

I could feel my limbs elongating while the pain intensified.

Shoot I felt like I was in a labor room.

That’s just how I thought it was like in one.

White fur appeared in my lower limbs and for a minute I was scared.

I was shifting, it was happening.

Within minutes the pain reduced and I was standing in all fours.

I wanted to see my reflection but for some reason my wolf seemed to be pulled towards the clearing.

I thought I would struggle learning how to walk on all fours but I moved swiftly with ease.

I stood near the clearing . my eyes glowing.

I appeared larger than all wolves and it kind of scared me.

Everyone was staring at me in shock.

“ Mate , my wolf who spoke for the first time.

From a far I could see Cole .he was the largest wolf. His eyes glowed red . that’s how wolves did after scenting their mates.

“no, he hates us”’ “I know,” my wolf replied

“What should we do?” I asked her as she turned around.

“let’s shift back”.

This time it was painless.

I was in my clothes something that did not happen for normal wolves.

“What are we ?” I asked, clearly curious

“ I will tell you with time, now please let’s go back they are coming."

True to her word, the footsteps of the approaching wolves were nearby.

I quickly used the upper route before joining the slave crowd.

See for them, they could not shift.

They had been cursed against it .

“ She looks different”

“Is that the red-haired girl really and what happened to her ?”

Another slave pointed.

Did I look different or were they playing with me .

I ran back to our house to check what they were talking about.

I stared at the mirror in shock.

Who the hell was that girl?
