"So the terms themselves are flawed." Ares holstered his gun. "Now I'm moving in, supposedly to protect you. That means we'll have more, closer contact. That contract... doesn't fit the current situation anymore."
Elena almost wanted to laugh. What did he mean "doesn't fit the current situation"? He was the one who forced her to sign it, and now he wanted to change it just like that?
But she held back. Ares was important for her mission. She couldn't piss him off right now.
"So how do you want to change it?" she asked, suppressed anger in her voice.
Ares looked at her, something Elena couldn't read flickering in his green eyes. Then he raised his wrist, activated his lightcore, and gestured for Elena to open hers too.
