The Deal

1011 Words
Edward's POV I've always been curious about the Nightfall Pack. My father, Lucus Anderson, is an undisputed king, especially after his actions in the Dark Dawn war. No one would ever doubt his strength and status. I've never agreed with his methods. We have never been able to see eye to eye about most of anything. One of the things we constantly disagree on is the Nightfall Pack. Our packs are enemies they have been for as long as I can remember. However, not long ago, a subordinate I had recording my father's every move reported that my father often secretly goes to the Nightfall Pack and then returns within a day. It was far too strange to ignore. After all, why would my father be willing to go to the territory of his biggest enemy from the war? I need to figure out what is going on and to do that I have to gather more information on the Nightfall Pack. It's the best way to ensure my attack is effective. After witnessing the chaos of the engagement party, Aurora caught my attention. From what I could gather, Henry had an affair. But Aurora's public rejection and how she handled the situation was unexpected. According to the information I had my men collect, she doesn't have a wolf, and her pack's strength is in no place to rival Nightfalls. It's surprising she decided to shame Henry so openly with the video. "What are your conditions?" "I need all of the information you can give me about the Nightfall Pack." She was stunned by my request. To distract her from any warm feelings towards her ex-boyfriend pack, I leaned in and pressed my upper body against hers. She subconsciously leaned away from me, so I placed my hands on the backrest behind her. Caging her in against me. "If you don't agree, I can just as easily take the neighbouring Swiftwood Pack during my attack." She lit up after the threat. Pure anger burning in her beautiful green eyes. "I accept this condition." She gently pushed my shoulder with her hand and calmly looked at me with those beautifully expressive eyes. I almost lost my train of thought while staring at them. I stood and made a gesture of invitation. Sitting crosslegged on the opposite sofa, waiting. "I need a pen and some paper." Blake jumped up to grab it. I smirked across at Aurora. "I'm going to attack your fiance's pack. Don't you have anything to say about that?" She snorted, then calmly stated, "He's not my fiance anymore, so whatever you do to him has nothing to do with me. I'm willing to give you information it's just a transaction." I looked at her almost proudly and chuckled. She didn't seem impressed and just ignored me and sipped her tea. "Haha, It seems that Aurora knows your reputation well." My wolf laughed at me. "You don't have the right to make fun of me, Orion." I shot back at him. Blake quickly came forward with what I had requested. Aurora casually pulled a ribbon from her dress to tie up her shinny golden hair. The red of the ribbon was eye-catching against her gold hair. It reflected her charming and attention-grabbing. She calmly wrote and drew on the paper for over an hour. Out of politeness and being a gentleman, I did not look over at her work, merely took the time to relax and wait for Blake to hand me to documents. I was curious about the amount of information she was writing down. It appeared to be a lot. "Okay." She declared as she finished. Placing down the pen she handed me a sheet of paper. I put down the file I was reading and took the paper from her. It was a map of the entire Nightfall Pack, with small annotations marked all over it. "She drew this map?" Orion exclaimed in my mind. I was just as impressed. The map showed all the terrain of the pack including every fork in the roads. Each room was labelled in every single building. Key rooms were annotated boldly. As I was examining the map, another paper was handed to me. I looked up to see that Aurora has walked over with a stack of papers for me. "Let's make this clear. After you have looked through all of these, you have to send me back to my pack safely." "After seeing these, I'm even more reluctant to let you go, my love." Calling her love habitually, but she chose to ignore what I said and handed me another paper. The paper was a list or all the guards in the Nightfall Pack. It detailed where they lived, what time they patrolled and their patrol route. The shock was even worse this time. The map alone showed that Aurora must have lived in the pack for a long time and was familiar with the terrain. But all the knowledge on the guards was not something that even Henrys fiancee could grasp, let alone someone who had never lived there. "How do you know all this?" I asked. "It's simple," she flicked the har that had fallen over her eyes back over her shoulder. "All you need is a good pair of observant eyes and a brain." She handed me the remaining papers, which detailed several important pack figures. Where they lived, their routines. There was even a menu for the pack's restaurant. Her observation and memory skills were incredibly impressive along with being very attractive. "Im satisfied." I organised the papers and placed them back on the table. "How about we make another deal?" "Another deal?" She frowned, slightly dissatisfied with my question. "Yes, would you like to join us in wiping out your ex-boyfriend's Pack?" "Join you?" "Yes." "Impossible." I was taken aback. I thought she would at least hesitate, but she refused almost instantly. "Why not? I'm willing to split resources with you, as far as I know, Swiftwood Pack could use some more resources.”
