2 more hours. I just had to wait 2 more hours till I am officially 18. I have been cleaning all the guest rooms all day long. 16 total hours of my day spent cleaning. Lucky for me, I wasn't bothered once by anyone. I had been taking my time to try and extend the time I was left alone to 11:30. I needed to be left alone until I could slip into the woods and find a place to form my wings. I couldn't let anyone see that my abilities awake tonight. I need them to think they don't have to worry till tomorrow, so I have the advantage.
I finished folding the last towel and glanced at the clock. 1 more hour. I walk to the door and press my ear to the frame and try to hear any movement. One... Two... Three... Time kept ticking, and I didn't hear a single sound. I carefully opened the door and no lights were on. Good, just what I needed to get out into the woods. I quietly and carefully walked to the back door of the guest house and watched from the small window as the pack patrols moved past. Perfect, they would be back around for a few hours. I waited a few more minutes to ensure that I was alone before slowly opening the door just enough to slip out.
The cool autumn air hit me hard as a breeze carried the smell of leaves and crisp dew to my nose. I slowly took off my house shoes and stepped onto the grass. Every nerve in my body shot to life as I felt and smelled the surrounding earth. I was rarely allowed outside, as Fae got their strength from the elements and the Earth herself. I could feel my body beginning to recover slightly from the damage I had been dealt since my last visit outside. I took a deep breath and just enjoyed the feel and smell of the elements. I began to take slow steps forward to the edge of the woods before I began to break into a full sprint. I was running with no sense of direction and letting my body lead the way. I felt so free and light. A smile spread across my face and my hair fell down and became a trail following behind like a shadow.
I ran deep into the thick tree line and almost floated over the logs as I jumped them. The moon was high and bright in the sky and the stars seemed to giggle with my new-found joy. I began to hear the sound of water and, as if by instinct, ran towards it. A few moments later, a large waterfall came into view with a pool reflecting the moon at its base. I slowed to what felt like tiptoeing as I approved the water. The ripples on its surface from the waterfall almost called to me. I looked over the edge and gazed into my own reflection. I was stunned because the girl I saw was a healthy and beautiful version of me. The cheeks were fuller and eyes no longer held dark circles. The deathly small frame had become fuller and curvy. I reached for my face and chest and felt the weight and plumpness I had always dreamed of having. I decided to remove my clothes and get a full look at myself in the pool. Once the dress dropped I was shocked at what met my gaze. Large breast, tight waist, plump butt, long smooth legs, and most of all, no scars. Not a single mark on my pale moon-dust skin. My dark hair with light eyes and skin made it look as if I was glowing in the moon's light against the dark sky. As I continued to stare at my naked form, crystal-like sparkles began to form around me. I glanced up and around me as the light sparkles fell from above me and gently surrounded me.
Suddenly, I felt immense pressure on my back that turned into searing pain. It felt worse than every whip I had endured. I could hold back the scream that ripped through my throat as I fell on all fours. My back was arched like a cat in hopes of relieving some of the pain, but every move I made felt as though my skin was being ripped apart. After what felt like hours, there was a sudden release and my wings unfurled from the new openings on my back. Small amounts of blood dripped down my sides from where they emerged, but I was too distracted from the glow and glitter to care. I stared over my shoulder at the large dragonfly-shaped wings that now surrounded me. They were almost transparent with a purple to blue color shifting shimmer and emitted a soft blue glow.
As I raised my hands to touch them, I noticed from the corner of my eye the water from the pool was moving with me. I turned to the water and moved my hand gently over the surface and the water followed my lead. "Water..." I whispered to myself. I focused my attention and emotions on the pool, led only by instinct, and it began to make bubbles and shapes as I thought of them. "I'm a water elemental!" I said with much excitement. Without hesitation, I leaped into the pool and allowed the water to envelop me. I rushed to the surface and used the force of the water to propel me upward. Once I broke free of the surface, I stretched my wings and soared into the sky. The feeling of the wind on my still naked body was a thing of wonder. I could feel small beads of water being blown off by the air flowing around my body. I couldn't help but giggle as I went higher into the sky.
I stayed out all night playing in the pool of water and soaring through the air so that when the daylight broke through the dark night sky, I knew the fun had to end. I sat on the edge of the pool wondering what I was to do. I didn't want to return to the pack house, there is nothing there but pain. At the same time, I didn't know where to go.
"Mother, what am I to do? Where am I to go? I am not even sure of what all I can do. Please Mother, please Moon Goddess, send me a sign of what I should do..." I prayed up to the sky. I never asked for help before, but in the past I was so certain I would die at the hands of those wolves that I didn't bother trying. I sat in the silence of the night for a few moments more before the water fall seemed to partially stop. I walked closer to the edge and noticed a tunnel behind the falls.
"Thank you..." I whispered to whoever sent me a sign. I enter the tunnel and follow its winding path. The glow of my wings gave me enough light to follow the path to a heavy wooden door with a Fae symbol carved into its surface. I ran my fingers along the etching and once I touched the pattern, the door swung open with a loud whoosh. I cover my face as dust flies towards me, couching lightly at the now soiled air. I wave away the lingering partials from my vision and are stunned by a old library filled with several old books that look as if touched, they would fall apart. In the center of the room was a pedestal. Above the pedestal was a window with a view of the moon and the remainder of the night sky.
“Hello, my daughter.”
