Two days earlier.... Artemis’s POV The sound of glass shattering against the wall echoed through the office. Artemis stood behind his desk, chest heaving, his hand still clutching the edge of the table as his private investigator cowered before him. “A month,” Artemis seethed. “Thirty goddamn days and this is what you bring me? Nothing?” “I’ve traced every lead, sir,” the PI stammered. “She vanished completely. No records. No calls.
