“Jack, we can’t wait on this. Put that trigger down and get someone to guard it. Then climb up in the cab. I’m gonna hand the detonator out to you.” Shake gently twisted the dynamite out of its clip and maneuvered forward where he could see Barnett kneeling on the seat of the cab. “Go real easy with this thing, Jack.” He handed the dripping explosive through the access window. “It’s rigged with an electrical cap. Once you get it clear of the truck, just lay it down on the ground somewhere and keep everybody away from it. Then we’ll wait for EOD.” “What’s in the barrels? Cops are asking.” “I’m pretty sure it’s ANFO—ammonium nitrate and fuel oil. At this point the fumes are almost as dangerous as the guts of this damn thing. So be careful—and tell the cops to establish a wide perimeter.”
