34. Silver Lining in the Dark

    Valentin     I pushed my light into Mel’s body and could feel that the babies were fine, they were a bit distressed, but their heartbeat was normal. But when I pushed my light into Mel’s head, a heavy and dark wall was around it, preventing me from seeing and sensing anything. The only thing I could feel when my light reached her slowly beating heart was raw pain, loneliness, and hopelessness.  It felt like a nightmare, one that you couldn’t wake up from.  I had to try harder, to push through it. I closed my eyes and focused on the core of my energy, of my powers, my solar plexus.
