Chapter 42  Matilda Vaughn POV  □□□  I sat inside the food court of a mall which I decided to stop at It was surrounded by people Actual people who looked at me worried, as I sat shivering  Tears rolling down My eyes…  Maybe it was the way I constantly looked behind me, afraid. Or my tears that burned my strength.  I had thrown Sterling's phone on the way out here. Afraid I would be traced.  I parked his car down, out.  I borrowed the money to make the call, mainly because I didn't want to ruin anyone's life. Mine was already hard Every minute felt longer, like an hour. Like an eternity.  But when I looked around. I was breathing.  Freedom is always costly  Now I realize it  But I'm uncertain if I have paid the price  I called my father saying I was going to the cops.
