Chapter 4

"Hey sweetheart", he said as he walked towards me smiling brightly. The nerves he got after abandoning me and mom when I was just a couple of months. As I stood there I took in his appearance he was tall, slim built. He had low cut black hair and brown eyes that were a bit lighter than mine but they matched mine nonetheless. I had to say my dad was pretty freaking handsome. No wonder mom fell for him. Psh

"What should I call you?", I asked a bit rudely.

"Charlie or Dad?", I said the 'Dad' bitterly. What? You can't blame me you know. Eighteen years! He was absent for eighteen whole years. He missed out on so much. Glaring at him I waited for his response. He looked at me for a second before saying, "well d....", he began.

"Ok Charlie it is" , I chirped interrupting him, there was no way I was going to call him Dad. No way.

Well at least that was what I thought at h the moment.

When I looked in his eyes I saw a bit of hurt. Good. Guilt was also evident in his brown orbs.

"Um...alright let's go inside", he said motioning for me to start moving.

"Bye Rick", I shouted before heading in. "Bye Skii. It was nice meeting you",he replied before starting the car.

"Soo, I've seen that you've been acquainted with Rick", Charlie said suddenly.

"Yup, good fella", I said popping the p as we head inside. As expected inside was gorgeous.

"Well that's good he'll be your driver while your here, would you like something to eat?", he asks hopefully. Ha you missed out on years of bonding time . No reason to start now.

"Nope", I said looking around. Right now all I wanted to do was not talk to him and go to bed.

"I think I'll just head to bed", I started walking off then stopped turning around. "Uhm where exactly is my bed?",I asked feeling stupid .

He let out a little laugh and headed towards me. His laugh made me feel......safe, weird right?.

"This way", he said walking ahead of me and soI followed. We headed up some stairs, turned a few corners then we came to a stop at a big white door. "This is it. Goodnight sweetheart",he said smiling slightly. What was up with all these nice names.Ugh give up already.

"Goodnight", I mumbled and went inside 'my room'. As soon as I went inside I plopped on the bed and cuddled under the covers. Minutes after I drifted off in a deep sleep but not before I called mom assuring her that I was here and I arrived safely.
