PIERCE'S POV
This strange feeling has lingered on for too long.
I can’t spend another moment without feeding this curiosity that has built up inside of me for days. My wolf has not failed to show how much this feeling has made him uneasy as well.
I know now, what i need to do. I need to find her.I didn't hesitate to leave for the city.
I arrived at “The Groovers” club, the last place I ever saw her.
But she was nowhere to be found. At that moment, my wolf gave me a nudge.
I still had her scent lingering all over me. So I decided to trace it.
Here I am standing and staring at this gigantic building sitting strongly at the heart of the city.
For some reason, the scent became stronger and I knew particularly that she had to be around here.
And I was right. Because the next view I saw was the figure of the woman that had invaded my thoughts for weeks now.
Once again, my wolf nudged me. And the word “mate” rang aloud inside of me again.
I hurried right up to her as she walked. “Hey club girl,” I said from behind her.
I watched as her eyes widened in surprise which gave me a certain kind of satisfaction. Her lips parted like she wanted to say something but closed back up almost immediately.
“Miss me?” I said flashing her a smile.
Her surprise expression turned to a frown immediately. “You wish, what are your doing here?”
“Easy now, club girl, I see you’re a feisty one.”
“Don’t call me that,” Her tone was one that no one would dare use on me. But for some reasons, I found myself enjoying it.
“I wouldn't call you that if I had a beautiful name to your beautiful face.”
“Well, I didn't get your name either,” She retorted. With that, I slowly walked straight to her and enjoyed how she shuddered at every step I took.
Even if she wouldn’t admit it, I know she at least feared me and that satisfied me a lot.
With a smirk on my face I said, “My name is Pierce.”
She averted her gaze to her side and that was when I realized how close we were. Close enough to easily share a kiss.
“Well, my name is Violin,” Her voice distracted me from my wild thoughts.
Damn it man!Get a hang of yourself.
Whilst she stood in front of me, I couldn't help but notice the marks around her neck.
“Is that my doing?”I asked out of concern but she said nothing. I searched her eyes trying to read her thoughts but just like the first time I set my eyes on her, I couldn't get a hang of what she was thinking.
I have never found it difficult to read a person’s mind before. So this fascinated and piqued my interest even more. This is strange, why can't I see through her?
What is it about her that makes it unable for me to read her thoughts.
“Are you okay? You've been staring for too long,” She asked.
My wolf senses picked up as the front door swung open and she turned over to that direction, I immediately took the opportunity and dashed out.
******
“Alpha Pierce, there's trouble. The elders seem to be forming an alliance against you,” My wolf guard Lancelot dashed into my chambers and said.
“Alliance? Who dares? Where did you hear of this?” I responded, my wolf charging up.
“I was doing my usual patrol on my duty post when I overheard Elder Marco and Elder Fredrick speaking to someone else who seemed like a wolf guard but I couldn’t make out his face as he was backing me, there seemed to be a plan in place.”
“And what was their conversation about?” I watched Lancelot hesitate for a moment, like he was scared to say anything.
“Speak up, Lancelot,” I commanded, my impatience rising.
“My lord…they were talking on how to over throne you and position someone else as the Alpha in your absence. What would you have me do my Lord?”
Oh I see, they are serious about this. It's alright Lancelot, you can go back to your duty post, I will handle this.”
Nightfall came real quick and this time it came with yet another bugging thirst for fresh blood.
I waited till everyone had retired to their chambers before secretly moving to the woods and into the city to hunt.
I had just found the perfect meal at “club da hound” when suddenly, that alluring scent filled the room.
I traced the scent to the direction it came from and then I found her, but this time she was a damsel in distress.
There were two men standing side by side and I noticed she was trying to free herself but then, they seemed intimidating and wouldn't let her leave.
My wolf senses picked up instantly and with a swift move I hurried to her side.
“Get your hands off her right now!” I ordered the men.
“And who are you to give such orders?” One of the men said as the other man rushed straight to me and attempted to give me a punch but I dodged immediatey.
This sudden act triggered my wolf and I dragged him by the neck, with one hand while I threw a punch at the other man with another hand.
I heard screams around me but I was too upset to notice where it came from, I went on to kick the men’s ass simultaneously and I didn't stop until I saw Violin slump from the corner of my eyes.
For the first time I felt my heart skipping instantly and I left the men.
“Mate!” My wolf cried out.
Without hesitation I carried her behind and sped into the woods.
“Violin?” I muttered, my heartbeat still racing.
