Second chance

"Listen, second chance is an exclusive opportunity. Some purposeful and industrious undertakings are blessed with unlimited chances while some are without a make-up scheme. To those with multiple chances, all you have to do is keep trying so far you're within the trying range, to use the last life-line in doing something worthwhile. And to issues with a chance, as in once-in-a-lifetime endeavor, it takes luck, determination, sprit's sophistication to understand the concept, and a host of moral virtue before its actualization. Therefore, whatever your hands find to do, do it well, well as though it will make you a king, that even if there are chances, now is the only time. Never allow the flesh and it's desiring feelings of ease to evade and captivate your contrived decision because to every good decision, there is a stumbling block ahead and most times it is our weaknesses, those things we can't say no to. Be informed, that the highest in the hierarchy of fools are those who know there is only but a chance to doing the right thing and fail still. Leaving nothing but regret and self-hate. Like a blade to the heart is the pain you feel and couldn't make right because you made the wrong decision. You're stepping out to the world, where you probably might have realize, or would come to realize that it is filled with opportunities, that's why you need this story" THIRTY YEARS AGO... ["We have been here, we have been there, but it has remained the same story. We had, and have again proved to be the best among the High Schools in Houcomb. We have again won the Houcomb High School Cup (HHSC) the fifth time in a row and now it has become a culture since we as always would, have been winning to lose as people expected of us and from all accounts. But we are only champion on a local platform. Winning the cup for the fifth time in a row makes it a norm for us and we want greater things" The Principal exclaimed, his voice migrating from what could be called a reminisce of the past or advice and was heading towards a reproof. "We have been tagged a winner, a domineering winner and at the same time an all-time looser. So this time, things have to change, saddle up for the task at hand, the illusion the mind can think, the self can achieve. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The only revenge you, as a team, and the school as your major fan and supporter can have against this reverberating failure is winning, and it's possible, yes it is" The Principal of Villa High School (VHS) said and turned towards his office, zoomed through the corridor while heaving heavily as though he were a field marshal and had just delivered a battle eve moral-lifting words. "We have been losing, loosing for the last five years, years which we struggled to win and had won, won like those before us and will surely face the five times back-to-back winner of the HHSC. It is a simple heading you know, the five time winner versus the five time looser" he said with a low guttural sound, compared to the high pitched remarks of the Principal. “Oh yes, we've been losing, but it has been oddly, blindingly profitable. I know you're shocked, I know it sounds odd but this is the analysis: In life you have to watch, carefully survey the challenge you're facing and the possible outcome of counter before you emerge for attack. For it's better to accept your enemy's taunting deal in order to survive and that's what I, as the Coach of this team have been doing" he said with a subtle smile which is capable of shanghaing a determined mind. "Coach! Elucidate!" Djin, the captain of the VHS team, the most valuable player of the recently concluded tournament, and the highest goal scorer enquired and the Coach gave a smirk. "St Chire has a two hundred percent sport facilities as it is a school made the wealthy ones from wealthy families. We need no sorcerer to confirm this as you know their fee is twenty times yours. They are good, swift, skillful but feeble due to their wealthy upbringing. The match is a fifty-fifty tie but they don't want to struggle so we needn't chance our arm as they'll pay us for loosing and thus retain their record as the only undefeated team in Houcomb football history. You already have the local trophy by winning the tournament involving the neighboring High Schools which in turn gives you the opportunity to face The Nobles and now you have to lose deliberately (he paused to examine their looks). There has always been an argument, but this year there won't be one as I'll elucidate as Djin wanted, the whole nine yards. You'll all be entitled to (40^^) each and that's enough to pay half your tuition fee if you plan to study at the Houcomb College. I'm sure your parent or guide will sponsor you and you'll have that for your upkeep. So lose, without stressing yourself and end up in profits. I hope you understand" The Coach said simply and walked away. As he had said, there won't be arguments and he wasn't waiting to hear it in case there was one. As if by a mutual consent, there was utmost serenity which would have remained unperturbed if no one said a thing. "I know you’re (He stuttered). Even I am confused. He wants us to lose as usual. Before now had I delve into the issue by meeting with members of the last squad and they said to me the same thing. To lose deliberately without trying, only the thought to lose. And then they'll win without stress, only the will to win. But just as the Principal had said, there has to be a change, it's time we abstain from selling our worth and stupidly accepting failures for ourselves and the school. Believe me, I'm tempted, just as you all are, but we have to stand and change history, go down in history and be remembered as a constituent of change than adding to the list. We'll train woefully the way Coach wants, but at the base field will we meet three times a week. Be informed, this truthfully is democracy, this is for the school, this is for history, The Principal who knows nothing of the bribing scheme and is always hurting about the school's loss, and it's for us as well. Today we meet by Four ‘O’ Clock if you accede, and if you don't, like you'll prefer to have the same old result and old terms, do not show up and I'll indirectly understand your minds so we needn't talk about it" Djin said, out of his heterodox and febrile point of view and came down the podium, leaving the perplexed squad to decide on their own.
