My phone hadn't stopped buzzing for 12 hours.
50 missed calls. 200 texts. All from the same number.
Adrian.
I ignored them all.
Until he showed up at my penthouse at 2AM.
The bodyguards tried to stop him. He shifted halfway.
"Let me see them," he growled. "Please."
I opened the door in silk pajamas. No makeup. No CEO mask.
Just Cloe. The girl he rejected.
"What do you want, Alpha?"
He dropped to his knees. Right there in my hallway.
An Alpha. On his knees. For me.
"I was wrong," he whispered. "I was young and stupid and my father forced me.
I thought you cheated. I thought-"
He looked up, eyes wet. "I didn't know they existed. My heirs."
Adrienne peeked from behind me. "Mommy, why is the man crying?"
Adrian's face broke. "Because I missed 4 years of your lives, princess."
Adrien stepped forward. Brave like his dad. "You hurt Mommy."
"I know," Adrian said. "And I'll spend the rest of my life fixing it.
If you'll let me."
He looked at me.
"Cloe. Please. A second chance. For the kids. For us."
I closed the door in his face.
But my hands were shaking.I looked at the kids and said to them let's go to bed.
