Felicity sat in the armchair opposite Kevin. The room had been arranged as if it were meant for negotiations between kings rather than a simple conversation between two young wolves. Heavy velvet curtains framed the tall windows, allowing only narrow streams of evening light to slip inside. The fading sun painted the walls in warm amber tones, making the expensive paintings look even more imposing. Portraits of past Alphas watched silently from gilded frames.
