On the day of the arrival of the rookie knights in the camp that was located at Noble Pines Woodland near the Blood Garnet Palace, the palace for Primary Queen Averie and Prince Leonidas, Aishia yawned as they all lined up. She noticed that from afar, she could see the Blood Garnet Palace.
"Hmm..." she hummed softly.
From what she knew, each mate of an emperor was granted a specific palace where the consort or concubine would live along with their offspring. Each palace consists of pack warriors, servants, knights, butlers, and several people where the lycan prince is the Alpha of their own pack.
If in case the emperor and one of his mates that only have daughters, the emperor would appoint one of his sons from the other mates to manage the palace. According to the ancient rules, only lycan princes must become a patriarch in a certain palace. Never will lycan princesses become an Alpha to lead their own palace.
The main palace called Blue Diamond Palace was where the emperor and empress resided. Their offspring would also live there and have the privilege to always see their father. The other children from the other mates of the emperor would also have the privilege to dine with him, too.
Have no fear, Galafe. I am not using my powers to kill you instantly. I shall use my hand to stab your eyes, your cheeks, your neck, your heart, your stomach, and even your c**k! She squinted her eyes from a distance. I need to be in the First Order of the Knights so I can have easy access to grant him death.
Her blood was boiling to kill Galafe straight away. But she mustn't move hastily as she could tell that Galafe has the protection spell coming from the divine priest.
The divine priest is the messenger of the Moon Goddess. The priest was blessed with magic to cast a spell and use it for the greater good.
That was Aishia's weakness... The blessed power from the Moon Goddess is omnipotent that could make her immobilized. Even with her stronger power, if the divine priest was involved to defeat her, it would be courting death.
I could have finished revenge if that priest did not intervene... Aishia huffed, half-annoyed.
She never even wanted to cross paths with him. Knowing what he did to her back in the past still made her shiver. It would be difficult to hide if that priest knew that her soul and Cerise's body didn't match together.
So, she needed to hide from him.
"First Prince Neleos has arrived!"
Aishia snapped back the moment she saw the first son of Galafe, Neleos Oriana. She almost rolled her eyes when she saw his red wolf form with a golden crescent moon insignia on his forehead.
"What a great imperial blood..." she murmured as she glanced at Neleos' wolf form before he transformed back to his human form. She almost puked by his wolf form.
All of the imperial family can transform into a red wolf form with a golden crescent moon insignia on their forehead. But if the crown prince became an emperor, a little golden crown would be added on top of the crescent moon. It would be an emperor's insignia that he is the Alpha of the Alphas.
"Greetings, Your Highness," all of the people said. They all bowed and knelt before the first prince.
Aishia had to force himself to bow before that first prince. She already made a vow that she wouldn't bow and kneel to any member of the imperial family. And now, here she was, breaking her vow.
Damn it, she cussed.
"Rise," Neleos commanded as they did what he said. "Everyone, let us wait for my other brothers to come. They need to watch as under Father's orders, we would pick our own knights to work under us. Or you can choose to be in the Order of the Knights if that is what you wish," he explained.
Of course, I would be in the Order of the Knights! Aishia almost rolled her eyes because she found the first prince's statement absurd.
Felix was in the werewolf knight squad, First Order of the Knights. He was also one of the elite knights of the Oriana Empire. Being in the First Order of the Knights and being an elite knight were two different tasks.
The First Order of the Knights was responsible to guard and protect the inside of the Blue Diamond Palace. Those werewolf knights stayed in a certain location to keep an eye on those who would dare to stab the lycan emperor with a silver stake.
Wolfsbane and silver stake struck in the heart could be the two factors to kill a werewolf, regardless if it was a lycan or a werewolf.
Elite Knights were known as underground knights. Those werewolf knights could be used for an assassination. Those who betrayed the empire must expect unexpected deaths. They bestowed fatal death as well and could make it like it was a result of a fortuitous event.
Now, Aishia remembered that information. She thought of being in the Elite Knights. Elite Knights were very close to the emperor.
If being an elite knight would lead me to Galafe, I must do what it takes to be an elite knight by being in the First Order of the Knights...
Aishia snapped back as soon as she heard the howling sounds coming from each direction of the forest. Her rookie fellows suddenly became alert and growled dangerously while she remained calm and composed at the front of the line.
Foolish... The lycan princes are coming. She rolled her eyes.
The ground shook as soon as more red enormous lycans appeared out of nowhere. But the one she focused her eyes on was the red wolf that came from the direction of the Blood Garnet Palace.
He was the last one who arrived as they all howled together before they transformed back to their human form, cladding with imperial suits.
"Perfect! They are all here and complete," Neleos announced with a smile.
All of the princes settled on the platform going to their respective seats, looking so adamant and powerful with their aura. Aishia's some of her fellows shook uncontrollably. Most probably that some of them have their wolf form unlike her that she was wolfless so she couldn't feel how powerful they were.
Captain David Ferrer, the rookie knight's mentor, stepped forward and cleared his throat. "We'll start from phase one, choosing your weapon," he announced and looked in her direction. "You there. Pick a weapon of your choice," he commanded.
Aishia huffed. "Why me?" she murmured as she stepped forward.
In front of them were two weapons of their choice. Her eyes glanced at the sword compartment and the spear compartment.
Regardless if a knight has a wolf inside him, they still need to pick a weapon that they would use to train and master.
Aishia has decided what weapon she wants to wield. Sighing, she went to the spear compartment.
That way, her fellow rookies huffed and chuckled from the weapon she chose. She understood that they belittled the spear as a weapon to kill.
She smirked. They seemed not to know that the spear had an advantage.
"Why spear when you can use a sword?"
She raised her gaze to Miguel, the eighth prince, from that question. Aishia could feel the ridicule stare focused on her as well.
"Your Highness—" I don't know your name. "I have been rumored that I cannot dwell on my own sword. The name's Cerise Blueth. That is why I have changed a weapon to use a spear instead," she answered in her utmost respect which almost made her puke.
"I see." Miguel nodded and caught an interest in her.
"Or perhaps, she doesn't know how to even dwell on the spear..." Aishia heard murmurs back in the line.
"I am more capable of using a spear than using a sword." She turned her head to one of her comrades with a grin on her lips.
"If so, can you grant us a good show, Dame Blueth?" It was Neleos who just spoke.
Dame is the address for a female knight while Sir is for a male knight.
Aishia gritted her teeth. Why do I feel like he was belittling me? Even with that feeling, she bowed her head before she threw the spear in the air and jumped to get it. As soon as she landed on the ground, she spun the spear in a cartwheel motion and passed the wooden shaft of the spear to her shoulders skillfully and masterfully before she pointed the blade to the rookie who was in front of the line and just spoke ill at her.
She watched as that person had a horrifying expression when the spearhead was near to his eye like she was attempting to poke it with the pointed blade. The man fell backwards and hit his bottom on the ground.
Aishia glanced at Neleos with a stoic expression. "I hope I have given His Highnesses a good show," she stated, mocking the first prince when he saw how surprised he was.
Benjamin, the fourth prince, was the first one who clapped his hands. "Bravo! I am impressed!" he exclaimed. "Don't you find it impressive?" he asked his brothers.
Neleos clapped his hands and nodded. "We are impressed," he answered with a smile. All of them clapped except the third prince, Leonidas who remained quiet as he just watched silently. "I would love to have you in my knight squad."
That earned a gasp from Aishia's comrades. Who would even be shocked by that? Aishia was just a rookie knight with no proper training under the imperial military yet she could hold the spear properly.
"That's unfair, first brother. I also want her in my squad," Vincent, the sixth prince, disagreed.
"Me, too! We want her, too!" Mitxel and Miguel said in unison.
"I also want it!" The hostile ninth prince, Edzard raised his hand.
Alfonce, the youngest prince, waved his hand. "Me! Me! I also want her, too!"
Percival, the second prince, chuckled. "Brothers, remember your manners," he said. Then he looked at her. "Also, why don't we hear from..." he paused, not remembering her name.
"Cerise Blueth, Your Highness." She almost rolled her eyes.
Percival nodded. "Why don't we hear Blueth's statement for this?"
At last... She cleared her throat and bowed her head a little by placing her hand on top of her left chest while she was holding the spear in her other hand. "I am honored that His Highnesses of the Oriana Empire have recognized my skills for I am just a lousy knight who doesn't know how to dwell her own sword." Lies. I know how to dwell it, bastards! "But it is unfortunate that I have to decline to join any prince's knight squad as I have the ambition to become a knight in the First Order of the Knights."
Their jaws dropped a little, shocked by Aishia's straightforward statement. She secretly smirked. That was the look she was looking for.
"And I also have another ambition..." she paused as she laid her eyes to Leonidas who was looking intently at her. "I will become the strongest knight of the Galafean era. So, Third Prince Leonidas, the Scorched Flaming Prince, I am here to dethrone your title as the strongest knight," she declared brazenly.
