Averie was busy watering her own homegrown garden when Benjamin arrived with a swollen cheek.
"Mother..."
She gasped upon seeing Benjamin's condition. "Your Highness?" When she saw that Benjamin looked so gloomy and the swollen face he had, she rushed to him. "What happened to you, sweetheart?" she asked, worried as she took Benjamin's hand and coerced him to sit with her.
Benjamin looked away when Averie caressd his cheek. Averie must have known the reason for this. She knew that he and his son, Leonidas had gone back from the expedition yesterday yet Benjamin came to her this early in the morning.
"Did Nanne hurt you?" she asked softly.
Benjamin didn't answer. He sighed and looked at her. "Mother, can I stay here for a while? I wish to converse with you more..."
