‘Why are men like this so obsessed with chasing women down alleyways, Eddie?’ ‘It’s a sick power thing, V.’ ‘Power is an illusion, Eddie. There is always someone stronger than you. Always someone stronger than the someone stronger than you. But that is what we are for; to protect those with the lesser illusions.’ ‘You’re very insightful when you wanna be.’ ‘We have our moments.’ Eddie scoffs as she slows her pace to a steady walk, can already hear the footsteps slowly creeping down the alleyway behind her. ‘To be fair, he’s not technically chasin’ us.’ ‘He doesn’t know that...’ Eddie halts with a light chuckle at Venom’s reply. She hears the footsteps pause for a second before she hears them moving faster than before. Eddie turns slowly when she hears the footsteps come close enough, arches a brow at the guy and calmly asks, “Can I help you, sir?” “Yeah, you can help me, sweetcheeks.“ The guy scoffs out his words, but Venom scoffs louder in her mind as he thinks, ‘This one’s bad, just like you said. Let me eat him, Eddie.’ ‘Give the guy a chance.’ Eddie bites back a smirk when she hears him scoffing again. “You can gimme all your money, and while we’re at it, you can then bend that perky ass over –“ ‘Was that his chance?’ ‘Yep. Mask!’ ‘Copy!’ Venom floods forth at once, his hulking figure looming over the guy’s petrified little form. “Let me finish that sentence for you.” Venom grins down at the guy who immediately turns to run away. “WHAT THE f**k?!” Venom grabs him by the scruff before he can even take another step, holds him up so that they’re eye level with the i***t. “How about I bend your PUNY little ass over my c**k?” “NO! f**k! PLEASE DON’T f*****g DO THAT TO ME!” ‘Uh... what the f**k, V?’ Eddie laughs nervously in his head as she feels the guy wriggling frantically in their grip. ‘Only scaring him. The more afraid they are, Eddie, the better they taste.’ ‘Ugh! How am I aroused by that? This is not OK! You better just be scarin’ him!’ “I like to f**k my food before I eat it.” Venom says, and this time, Eddie can’t help laughing with amusement, because she can clearly feel how much fun the i***t alien is having by just scaring this pathetic excuse of a human. ‘Ask him first, V. You know the rules. Just to make sure.’ “Oh, God... please, no...” Venom groans loudly, replies aloud to her, “Isn’t this proof enough?” ‘No.’ Comes Eddie’s stern retort. “Fine!” Venom snips, glares at the guy as he says, “We will let you live, however, if you tell us how many poor and unsuspecting people you have gotten your filthy little hands on and turn yourself in to the police.” “OK, yeah, sure, whatever you say, man! Just please –“ “Talk.” Venom narrows his large milky white eyes at the guy as he just lets him dangle there in his grasp. “We want a number. How many people?” ‘You’re gettin’ good at this actin’ thing, V.’ ‘It is very fun.’ Eddie laughs at his child-like glee. “I – shit... loads... I –“ ‘That was his last chance.’ “Finally!” Venom grins up at him, tongue lolling out to lick up the drool. “No, wait! You promised!” Venom scoffs as he pulls the guy to him, his mouth widening. The guy’s eyes widen as he screams in utter terror. “NOO –“ [10 Minutes Later.] “That guy tasted like shit.” Venom grumbles as he climbs up the side of the building opposite theirs. Eddie still hates heights, so can’t help teasing him just to keep her ridiculous fear at bay. ‘How do you know what s**t tastes like? Is there somethin’ you’re not tellin’ me?’ “I do not eat s**t!” Eddie laughs, then scoffs as she thinks, ‘Your stupid hissin’ don’t work on me anymore, love. But nice try.’ “Fine. Then, how about this?” Venom sounds smug before he’s leaping down from the building instead of just jumping across to the rooftop of their building like he always does. And the asshole only laughs when Eddie lets out a very girly squeal of fright. ‘You fuckin’ asshole! That’s not fuckin’ funny!’ Eddie yells out, hopes she goddamn deafens him! He quickly dissolves back into her, leaves her reaching for the nearby tree when she feels how wobbly her legs are. ‘It was very funny... to me.’ “f**k you. I nearly had a heart attack.” ‘And WHY would I let that happen, hm?’ Venom huffs back. Eddie ignores him all the way up to their front door, and then, ignores him still even when she finally slips into her robe and flops facedown onto her bed. She feels him slowly etching his way out of her lower back, feels him looming over her, and still ignores him. She’s tired, as well as pissed off. Always taking the piss out of her! “I’m sorry, Eddie.” Venom frowns. “I don’t always take the piss...” Eddie almost scoffs at how unconvincing he sounds even to himself. However, she does finally break her silence with a dismissive, “Feed the stupid chickens.” “Alright!” Venom chirps, floats quickly over to the kitchen. “Are you hungry, Eddie? I can cook you something.” “Yeah, no offence, V, but God, no. I told you, not until you learn how to goddamn cook without causin’ me a nervous breakdown.” Comes Eddie’s muffled reply. She finally lifts her head, remembers what he said in the alleyway, stares curiously into her pillows as she asks, “Do you even have a c**k?” Eddie scoffs out a quiet chuckle when she hears a few pans falling loudly to the floor, hears the stupid chickens before she sees his head come spiralling quickly back into the doorway. “You OK, V?” She asks seriously, somehow bites back a smug smirk (because if she didn’t know any better, she would say she could feel slight embarrassment on the alien’s side of their bond... which is just adorable.) “Why are you asking? Finally tired of those stupid buzzing things in the bottom of your panties drawer?” Venom hopes he sounds smug enough. “Oh, so, you’re a comedian now, too, huh?” Eddie asks, doesn’t know how her cheeks are only the slightest bit heated. “I told you, Eddie, I can be whatever you want me to be.” “Promised any demon or devil ever.” Eddie chuckles (only to suppress the pleasant shiver) when he narrows those pretty pearly eyes at her. “Seriously, though, I’m askin’ out of curiosity here... like... do you... feel me when I... y'know?” “You mean do I come whenever you come, Eddie?” Eddie narrows her eyes a little, because he says it so calmly, no ounce of teasing. “I... yeah.” “I feel everything you feel, Eddie. All the time.” Venom wants to mock and tease, but he can’t help telling her, “Most of all, I feel your pain, Eddie. And I don’t like it.” “Yeah.” Eddie mumbles, “You and me, both, bud.” “This is why you love Annie so much. She reminds you of your mother.” Eddie scowls. “You a therapist now, too?” “Don’t be mad at me!” Venom scoffs. Eddie scoffs mockingly back before face-planting her pillow. “Let me make you some pancakes, Eddie. It will cheer you up!” “You are the reason I even need cheerin’ up!” Eddie grumbles loudly into her pillow, words slightly muffled. “Exactly! Let me make it up to you?” He sounds so hopeful that Eddie is groaning loudly in defeat (at herself for being so goddamn soft.) “Fine!” “Alright!! Sonny and Cher can help.” Eddie lifts her head from the pillow, glares at him as she snaps out a very firm, “No.” “Awh.” “V, I swear, if I find another goddamn feather in –“ “Alright, fine!”
