1. Tara The crow, whose dark shape housed an even darker spirit, hurtled invisibly through the gusty, starless night. The wild countryside passed rapidly below her and the wind whistled keenly from her wingtips as she adjusted her flight against the gale. She swooped down closer to get a better view of the land whose features, from on high, were only distinguished by vague degrees of blackness. The dense, inky clouds allowed the moon to glimpse through for a moment, revealing the landscape in tones of silver. Trees and hillsides rushed past in the tinted primal darkness, lakes and rivers occasionally glistened in the gloom.
