Chapter 9

654 Words
I walked into a contemporary two story penthouse, with glass windows, that led onto a terrace. The view was manificent, we could see the city lights for miles. The decor was in earthly tones, elegant yet with a hint of smiplicity. I see Simone coming towards us dressed in a black ankle length strapless dress. Her blue eyes, were the same as Alex even their features were similar. They were really quite beautiful in human form. "My brother informed me, of a little obstacle," Simone says, while looking me over. I shug my shoulders not saying anything, Alex must have mindlinked her with the details earlier. I see them look at each other, their eyes hazing over. I hear their inner conversation: "Alex, no fighting with the werewolves or humans," Simone tells him "As I told you before, I did not fight anyone," Alex replies. "I really like her, and I want her to like me too," Smione tells him. "I am glad that you do like Anatascia, but she may be my mate," Alex tells her. "What!" I blurt out. Two heads snapped in my direction, realising my mistake I quickly turn it into a cough. Dark blue eyes exaimed me cautiously, as if unsure of what they heard. "Are you ok? Do you need some water?" Alex asks coming infront of me. "Yes, please," I tell him continuing to cough slightly. Alex leaves us alone to fetch my water, Simone remained silent the entire time, she seem sad and had tears in her eyes. I go to ask her what's wrong, when she turns and walks out onto the terrace. Alex returns shorty with my water, taking it from him I drink it. He takes the empty glass from me and rests it on an end table nearby. I see he notice Simone out on the terrace, leading over the banister. "We are horrible host, come do have a seat," Alex says leading me to sit in the large living room. "Is Simone okay?" I ask, feeling a bit worried. "She will be fine, let me talk to her quickly," Alex says, leaving me alone. I was thinking about leaving, why did Alex tell Simone I may be his mate? This question was nagging my brain, since I heard it. I needed to talk to Bethany, she would know what it all means. After a few minutes Alex returns with Simone, she smiles at me brightly "Let me show you around my home, before we have dinner," She says as she out her hand for me to take. She takes me on a tour of her five bedroom, six bathroom luxurious home, we ended on the rooftop which had a large swimming pool. "So what do you think?" she questions expectantly waiting for my answer. "Its amazing," I tell her honestly, looking around. "I'm glad that you like it, as it will soon be your home," She says not looking at me. "My home? What do you mean?" I ask getting aggitated "I think I should leave " I say hastely heading back downstairs. I feel my guardians move. Simone quicken her steps behind me, "Anatascia please don't leave, I was just kidding," she says and grabs my arm to stop me. I feel my guardians slither across my skin. My guardians were reacting to my mood of defence. "I don't have much friends, and would really like you to be my friend," She say sounding pityful. Trying not to feel empathy for her, I stiffen my heart "Sure, we can be friends," I say touching her shoulder. What! "And you'll stay for dinner," Simone asks me smiling genuinely. My heart stiffens more and I hear myself uttered the word "Yes." She grabs me in a tight hug and I feel my guardians go still, not feeling my unease anymore. I did not mean to say those words, yet somehow I did.
