“What the f**k?” I must have yelled, because I heard LJ bellow from the kitchen, “What ‘cha need, boss?” “Nothing, LJ!” I watched Jason rise from the stoop. He looked good. His golden hair sparkled in the day’s first light. A happy smile tinged with nervousness spread across his lips.
