“Let them try”
I say through gritted teeth
“Please I can’t lose you Jess, just wait we can figure this out”
I try to take a calming breath as I look back at her. Now she cares? She never f*****g cared before now.
“The only way we can figure this out is if we take him and leave”
She sighs rubbing her temples and looking to the roof, then she pauses and pulls her hands away
“Fine we leave and we take him but we need to go right now”
She takes my hand in hers, I was shocked, I know my mother, I know she cared more about her powers then she ever cared about us but maybe I was wrong.
She places her finger on her lips as she pulls me from the dark room into what looked like a library, dining area. It was a whole lot cleaner and more homely here then it was in that dark, dirty old room
