Kyra sat in a chair in front of the principals office along with the girl she was fighting with, Amber.
She had soft, wavy blonde hair with bangs that frame her face, large almond-shaped eyes with defined lashes, and full lips. Her skin has a warm, glowing tone, and her features give off a natural, glamorous look. Which was now covered in ketchup, potatoes and other condiments.
The fight all started when Amber was being rude to Allie, calling her a weirdo and constantly staring at her. Allie tried to explain that she was just explaining to Kyra that Amber was the most popular and beautiful girl in school, until Kyle said Kyra was now the prettiest one in the school now and winked at her. Which angered Amber to dump chocolate milk on Kyra’s head, which in retaliation Kyra threw her lunch tray at the back of Ambers head coving her in food. Which sparked the whole cafeteria to engage in a food fight, Amber tackled Kyra and they wrestled across the cafeteria floor shoving food all over each other until the Alpha came in and broke up the chaos.
Amber whined and moaned disgustingly as she picked out pieces of food from her hair,
“Ew gross it’s going to take me hours to wash this off.”
Kyra scoffed, Amber turned her gaze to her and scratched her nose.
“This is all your fault you bitch.”
Kyra chuckled,
“I didn’t do f*****g s**t, your the one who went off the f*****g rails cause some guy said I was prettier then you. I didn’t say a damn word to you, you should have dumped milk on him not me.” Kyra crossed her arms and shook her head, “Crazy bitch.”
“What did you just call me!”
Amber yelled getting up from her seat.
“Miss. Mayer and Miss. Brooks, the principal is ready for you now.”
Said the little old lady from this morning, she opened the door and signaled for them to go in.
Amber stormed in first and plopped down in a seat, she started to tear up her eyes.
Kyra walked in and sat down on the end away from Amber.
“Ok, explain exactly what happened, Amber you go first.”
The principal said, she had a soft, heart-shaped face with warm, expressive eyes framed by delicate brows. Her light, honey-blonde hair fell naturally around her face, adding to her approachable and elegant appearance. She had a gentle smile with full lips, complemented by a subtle, natural glow.
Amber started her performance,
“Well Principle Andrew’s, I was trying to be nice to the new girl and show her around but she was very rude to me. I tried to be her friend but she told me to “f**k off” and as I walked away she threw her lunch tray at my head. Then tackled me and tried to beat me up, I don’t know what I did wrong, maybe I was a threat to her and she felt the need to challenge me or something.”
Amber pushed out streams of tears, she was good.
The principal looked at her sympathetically and handed her a tissue, then she turned her gaze to Kyra and looked at her with a serious look,
“Explain, now”
Kyra scoffed,
“I was minding my own business trying to eat my lunch when this lunatic comes over and started yelling at me. All because some boy named Kyle said I was prettier than her, I didn’t say a damn word to her and she dumped a whole bottle of chocolate milk on my head. So I threw my food tray at her, then she tackled me, she started it not me.”
Amber pushed out more tears,
“That’s not true Principle Andrews, she’s lying!”
The principal soothed her,
“Shh Amber it’s ok, I’ll take care of it.” She turned to Kyra and changed her tone, “Do you have proof?”
Kyra looked at her confused, clearly the principal doesn’t believe her. Amber clearly has her wrapped around her finger, Kyra just sighed and shook her head.
She knew there was no point in arguing,
“What’s the point you’re just going to punish me anyway.”
The principal was about to say something when the door opened, Alpha Ryder walked in.
Amber and Principal Andrews jumped up and bowed their heads, Kyra just sat there not realizing who walked in.
“Alpha Ryder what brings you here?”
Said the principal.
Kyra snapped her head to the door and quickly jumped up and bowed.
Even with all the food all over her face she could smell his scent and Ryder can smell hers.
Ryder cleared his throat,
“Just checking in to see what happened, did you find out.”
The principal nodded and pointed to Kyra,
“Yes alpha, she started it and I was just about to punish her.”
Ryder noticed Kyra rolled her eyes, she was fighting off tears. It was infuriating him seeing her upset.
“Can you tell me what happened first?”
Amber gave her sob story again, Ryder looked at her seriously, he wasn’t buying her story.
“Are you telling me the truth?”
Amber hesitated and slowly nodded her head.
Ryder narrowed his eyes, looking straight into hers. Amber started to squirm uncomfortably, Ryder pushed his Alpha energy to her and forced her to admit the truth.
“No she didn’t start it, I did!”
Ryder looked away from Amber and turned his gaze to Kyra, his face softened.
“Did you throw your tray at Ambers head?”
Kyra nodded,
“Yes only because she poured chocolate milk on my head, I apologize I should have handled it better.”
Ryder gave a small smile,
“I understand, honestly I most likely would have done the same thing. Unfortunately you both are going to be punished, I think helping the janitors clean the cafeteria would be a start.”
Kyra gave a small smile back and nodded,
“Sounds fair to me, Alpha.”
Ryder liked the way she said his title, he could help but give a big smile.
“Um excuse me Alpha Ryder, Ambers parents aren’t going to like that.”
Ryders smile faded, he turned his gaze to the principal.
“And I care why? Their daughter started a food fight, she must suffer the consequences like everyone else.”
The principal coward submissively behind her desk.
Ryder turned to walk out the door but before he left he turned to Kyra and winked. Butterflies fluttered in her stomach, her cheeks burned red.
The principal took a deep breath,
“Well I guess the both of you report to the cafeteria and start cleaning then, I’ll notify both your families of the situation. You’re both dismissed.”
Kyra walked out of the office first with Amber storming behind her,
“This isn’t over, from now on you better watch your back. And you better pray I’m not the Alphas ‘Second Mate’ when the next Full Moon ceremony starts cause I’ll make you pay for this.”
Amber stormed down the hall to the cafeteria, Kyra just shook her head and walked in the cafeteria.
Three janitors were already starting to clean the mess, one rolled a mop to Kyra while another handed Amber a broom.
It took them two and a half hours to clean the mess, school was already let out. Amber and Kyra walked out of the school, Ambers parents pulled up in a Rolls-Royce Cullinan. A woman opened the door and handed her a towel, Amber climbed in the back seat. The woman closed the door and went to walk back to the front seat but not before giving Kyra a means look.
They drove off, Kyra sighed.
“What a wonderful first day, at lease it couldn’t get any worse.”
All of a sudden the scent of Mahogany and mint filled her nose, she turned to see Ryder standing behind her. She stumbled backwards falling off the end of the curbside, all Kyra could think of was she spoke to soon.
Ryder reached out and caught Kyra, he had one hand on her lower back the other her hip. His touch sent tingles across her body, she felt her cheeks fire up and her heart beat quickened. Ryder felt the same tingle shot up his arms, her scent of vanilla and roses filled his nose. The urge to pull her closer to his body was so intense, he pulled her away from the curb and cleared his throat.
“You ok? I didn’t mean to startle you.”
Kyra cleared her throat,
“It’s ok I just wasn’t expecting anyone to still be here, I thought everyone went home.”
Kyra looked around she didn’t see her Aunt and Uncle, she started to walk home. She felt embarrassed that the alpha is seeing her all messy, she could only imagine what she looked like covered in food.
“Do you need a ride? I don’t mind giving you a lift.”
Kyra thought about saying no, she was supposed to keep her distance and stay under the radar. But when she looked at his face, she felt the urge to be around him. Every time she looked at him a warmth in her chest radiated through her body, she felt safe for once.
“Sure, thank you.”
Ryder smiled, tingles traveled down to Kyra’s stomach.
They walked up to Ryders car, Kyra’s eyes widened
“ Whoa is that a 1967 Shelby?!”
Ryder chuckled,
“You know your cars, yea it is. It was my father’s but I’m the one who restored it.”
Kyra gently glides her fingers over the hood,
“She’s beautiful.”
Ryder just looked at Kyra with a smile,
“Yea she is.”
Ryder cleared his throat and walked over and opened the door for Kyra.
“Oh, you’re such a gentleman, thank you.”
Ryder chuckled and shook his head.
He got in the drivers side, he watched Kyra admire the inside of the car. She looked like a little kid at Christmas, he couldn’t help but smile at her excitement.
Ryder started the car, the roar of the engine made Kyra laugh.
“Aw, I love that sound.”
Ryder smirked,
“Me too, if you like that check this out.”
Ryder revved the engine before full throttling out of the parking lot.
Kyra chuckled, it was thrilling, she loved the vibrations of the engine.
Ryder was doing donuts in the far parking lot, Kyra couldn’t help but laugh.
Ryder stopped and waited for the smoke to clear, Kyra took a deep breath.
“Aren’t you worried we’re going to get in trouble?”
Ryder snorted,
“I’m the Alpha, we’re not going to get in any trouble.”
Kyra almost forgot Ryder was Alpha, he was more down to earth than the other Alphas she came across.
Ryder smiled,
“Come let’s get you home before your aunt and uncle start to worry.”
Ryder pulled out of the school and towards the neighborhood, he pulled up to Kyra’s house. Kyra didn’t want to leave, we wanted stay and surround herself in Ryders scent. But when she looked up to the house she saw her aunt and uncle standing by the window and they didn’t look happy.
“Looks like they got the call from Principal Andrews already, I’m so grounded.”
She said with a sigh.
Ryder felt bad, Kyra didn’t really do anything wrong. She was standing up for herself.
“You want me to talk to them?”
Kyra shook her head,
“No I deserve it, they raised me to look the other way when there’s confrontation.”
Ryder looked at her, he reached for her chin and gently turned her head to him,
“You have every right to stand up for yourself, never let anyone tell you otherwise.”
A shiver went down Kyra’s spine, his touch was electric. Kyra was fighting the urge to lean in and kiss him, she cleared her throat and just nodded.
Ryder smiled and lowered his hand,
“Have a good night Kyra.”
“You too, Alpha”
Ryder smile,
“You can call me Ryder.”
