My Vampire Mate

RANA-PRESENT DAY AUGUST 2022

“Lila, come on, we’re going to be late!” My best friend Rana yelled. We were to meet Sabina and my brother Dorian for lunch. Sabina and Dorian have been together for years. She’s also one of my dearest friends.

I rushed downstairs and almost knocked Rana on her ass. “I’m so sorry, I expected you to be outside!” She stumbled a little but she didn’t fall. “You’re fine, let’s go!” She laughed.

We climbed into my Acura NSX and sped off.

We arrived at the restaurant just as Sabina and Dorian pulled up. It’s only about 25 mins minutes from the manor, in Mt. Tremper. I love the dark, old world feel of this place. It’s perfect and I’m starving!

They are definitely true mates! They discovered they were mates about six years ago. She is 5’9 and absolutely gorgeous! She has long white hair, and she’s slender with incredible blue eyes. He is 6’6 and also has white hair. He has beautiful gold eyes though, he is also built like a brick wall.

We all sat down and looked at our menus. We all ordered smash burgers, rare, with the fries, and I ordered a vodka tonic.

We got our food and began eating. Rana was fidgeting in her seat and continuously looking behind her. I said, “ are you ok hun? What’s got you excited?”

She leaned close and whispered, “He’s here, I know it’s him.” This could be one of two situations. She is either not fond of this guy or it could be her mate.

Vampires can smell their Mates but will not know for sure until they taste each other’s blood. We also have only one true Mate, for eternity.

Dorian stood, “Rana, want me to go see who it is?” Rana looked at him and just shook her head yes. Dorian walked towards the man, that is when the man made eye contact with Rana.

Dorian looked back at Rana and she smiled. He extended his hand and introduced himself to the man. “I’m Dorian Salvatori. That gorgeous woman over there is my mate Sabina. My sister Lila, and Rana. Come, I’d like to introduce you.”

The man extended his hand and said, “My name Is Nicholi Cross.” Then, the walked towards us.

He stood right in front of Rana and lifted her hand. She stood up and smiled at him. “I am Rana Olivia, you are?” He smiled back and said, “I am Nicholi Cross, it is wonderful to meet you.”

She raised up on her toes and placed a very soft kiss on his cheek. He slid his arm around her waist and they walked to a nearby table. I found our waiter and asked that her food be transferred to her at her new table.

We decided to hang out until we were certain she was safe.

Sabina asked me, “What about you, are you curious to know who you are destined to be with? I bet he’s just as wonderful as you!”

I thought about it for a minute and said, “ I don’t know if I have a Mate. I feel like I would have felt him somewhere by now. I’m actually starting to think he took a chosen mate. I will be twenty five next month, we normally find our mates by nineteen years old, so that you spend eternity loving each other.”

My brother put his arm over my shoulder and said, “ you have a mate Lila, he’s just lost. Come on, let’s go home, Rana is leaving too.”

When we got home, border patrol ushered us in. “What the hell is going on here? Where is my father?” Dorian roared.

“He’s at the northern border Sir. There was a breach and a few men were wounded. We were ordered to escort you to the manor.” Scott, our head of security for the eastern border, explained.

We have major security and four head of security at each border. Our father is an original Vampire, one of the firsts! Our mother is as well. We are pure bloods.

“Alright, let’s go then. I will secure the women and go help my father.” Dorian said as we walked inside.

“I want you to stay together. If anyone gets anywhere near the manor, take off their f*****g head!” He said, before kissing Sabina goodbye. “I’ll be back soon.”

“I want that Sabina. I want to know I’m important to someone.” I said as I walked to the bar in the family room.

“I know you do babe. Maybe it’s taking so long because he’s a badass and he’s going through hell to get to you.” Sabina said then winked at me.

“He just better not be human, or a fuckin Werewolf!” I sighed.

There was a slight wind and a light tapping of the window in the corner. “Someone’s here!” I whispered.

We levitated slightly off the floor, and moved to the other end of the room by the window. “I know you’re in here, why hide?” I stated as calm as possible.

A burley half man, half wolf, came charging at me from the left. I lifted my hand and flicked my wrist. He flew backwards, right into a sword above the fireplace at the other end of the room.

Sabina floated over to him, she kept her gaze locked on him to keep him in place, then grabbed his head and ripped it off his body.

“Dorian will be proud. He would probably find that incredibly hot too.” I laughed.

I’m not sure why, but different packs of werewolves have been trying desperately, to get in here. I wonder what they are after. They never send more than six wolves, smart, but why?

“He looked like a rogue Sabina. Like he was stuck shifting back.”

“I believe he was. Someone is getting desperate. I’ll see if I can persuade Dorian to share some information tonight.”

Just then, Dorian and my father came rushing in.

“Are either of you hurt?” My father asked.

“No Father, we’re Vampires, just like you. He didn’t stand a chance.” I laughed.

“What happened out there? What do they want?” I questioned.

“Do not worry about it Lila, we are handling it!” Father said as he walked out of the room.

I hope Sabina gets somewhere with Dorian. I need to know what they are trying to get so that I know exactly what I’m protecting.

Just then, Rana came bouncing into the room.

“Holy s**t you are never going to believe it!” She yelled.

“Believe what?” I asked. “Nicholi is from and Italian Coven that has been around longer then your father!”

“What in the world is he doing here? I’m glad you found your mate but, that can not be a good sign.” I stated.

“He said they are here for the upcoming war.” She said.

“What war? There is nothing going on. The Werewolves attacking isn’t new.” I said.

My mother, Stella chimed in, grabbing her martini. “There is something happening and your father has asked for some backup. That is all I know. It will be handled.”

“Does that mean you will go to Italy when he leaves Rana?” I asked.

Rana walked over to me and took both my hands. “It means we have two homes now.” She smiled.

“Okay, I’m going to head to my room now. I’ve had enough excitement for the night. I think you should come too Rana, I know you have a lot to talk about.” I laughed.

“f**k yeah I do! Come on!” She exclaimed.

“Goodnight Mom.” I kissed her cheek.

“Goodnight Madam Salvatori. “. Rana said bowing.

Salvatori Manor is over one hundred years old. My parents suite takes up the entire third floor. My brothers suite is the entire west side on the second floor, and mine is the entire east side.

The first floor is the kitchen, family room, a nursery, a pantry, laundry room, offices, and den. We also have some apartments here. Where Rana and her family live, and some of our security. The basement is the gym and the pool. The sub basement is the dungeons and have a separate entrance, outside. The back of the house is the training arena, our gardens, a game room, another kitchen, more offices, another nursery, and a playroom. Also more housing. We like to keep our family close.

The home itself is old Victorian. Not much has been changed. Obviously, each new lady of the house has changed it a bit.

My mother loves black, it’s everywhere. She does tend to throw in some color here and there but black lace is gorgeous!

My room is very similar to theirs. It’s dark and very feminine. I like it.

“Rana, have a seat, I’ll get us drinks!” I tell her.

I get us some fresh blood from the fridge, then take out 2 wine glasses. I go back in and had one to Rana, then take a seat.

“Oh my, my favorite!” Rana excitedly says, then she takes a sip from her straw.

“Ok, tell me everything!” I shouted.

“Lila, he is perfect! He is definitely my mate! We did not have s*x, yet, but we did, taste each other a bit. His blood is so sweet. It’s like my favorite wine, only better!” Rana gushed.

I found myself getting jealous. What in the name of Dracula is going on? I don’t get jealous!

“I am so happy for you! So where is he?” I asked her.

“He’ll be here in about 30 more minutes. He had to go tell his family and get some things. He will be staying with me until we leave. If that’s ok with everyone.”

“I think it will be perfectly fine sweetie. I am so happy you found your mate!” I said as I gave her a hug and chugged the rest of my AB+.
