My Vampire Mate

EVERYONE KNOWS

Rana brought me into the living room and sat on the couch with me. Nicholi got us some wine.

“Lila, we need to do some investigating. There’s got to be a way to either change the law or break the bond.” Rana suggested.

“What?! I don’t want to break the bond. The day that Matt took me to Alpha Saba’s, the minute I saw the mansion, I knew I was home. All hatred towards Werewolves vanished and I felt whole. Ever since that day, I’ve felt empty, maybe even lost. I need him Rana.”

Nicholi must have heard my little speech. He said, “we need to find a way to change the law, or you will have to break it.”

Rana looked up at him and smiled. “I totally agree. I don’t know anyone more deserving of love than you Lila.”

We all got up and went up to my room. I collected the pictures and the book and went to the kitchen. I got us each a glass of wine, and met them in the study.

I set the pictures on my desk and brought the book to Nicholi.

“I found this in our family library. I can’t read the inscription on the front. There’s also something weird inside.” I explained.

Nicholi felt the inscription on the outside of the book. “I’m not sure what it says either. This is a very old language.”

“Well look inside. This is my Mother’s family tree, here is my Father’s. They each have one member scratched out. I wonder why that is.”

“Have you looked any further Lila?” Rana questioned. “Not yet. Let’s have a look.”I replied.

Each page of the book, had a family tree. Rana and Nicholi found their trees, each tree had one ancestor scratched off. Somewhere near the beginning.

Nicholi scratched his head, “What the hell does it mean? They are all hundreds of years ago, why is it always a female and a male.”

“There is definitely a something they aren’t telling us. Maybe we should ask my Mother.” I suggested.

“Do you think she will tell us or get upset?” Rana asked.

I shrugged my shoulders, “I think there’s only one way to find out.” I said.

We left the study and found my Mother in the kitchen downstairs.

“Good evening.” Mother said when we walked in.

I sat next to Mother and said, “I have something to ask you, please don’t be upset. I was looking for some pictures, and found this book in the library. Can you tell us about it, it makes no sense?”

Her eyes turned a bit red and looked like they might pop out of her head. She took the book from me and just looked at it while running her hand across the top. She didn’t say a word.

“This book, is very old, I’m sure you’ve discovered that. This inscription is actually damaged, it refers to the forbidden and the vampire laws though.” She finally said.

I placed my hand on top of hers and said, “What about the family trees? They all seem to have one member scratched off and it’s always one male, one female. Nicholi and Rana found theirs as well.”

She bowed her head and took a deep breath. “This is the reason your father, and a few others, put the no blending of species law into place. It wasn’t just with Werewolves either.

My great-great grandfather, was mated to a Witch. She chose another, my grandfather did as well. Your Fathers great grandmother, was mated to a Werewolf. He died in battle, she was mated to another before your Father was born.

Before your father was able to do something about it, it was actually normal. Until his cousin was mated to a werewolf. She tried to fight it, when she began losing her mind, she ran to him. He had already gone crazy, he killed her and then himself.

Your father forbid blending of the species after that. Werewolves are the only species that we know of, that will lose their minds, or die, without their mate. Over time, a few Vampires have too. It’s the weakening of our bloodline. That’s why he made it a law.”

I sat there speechless. That’s what’s happening to me. I’m losing my mind!

“If Fathers cousin had gone to her mate before, they wouldn’t have died. They would have been a powerful couple and happy.” I said as I shook my head.

“I agree. Your Father was just heart broken. It hasn’t happened since then.”

“Until now.”I said.

My Mother looked at me and tears filled her eyes.

“What are you talking about Lila?” She asked.

“Mother, Alpha Saba is my mate.” I cried.

She fell out of her chair and onto the floor.

Nicholi picked her up and brought her to the living room. “Can you both stay here with her for a moment. I’ll be right back.” I said.

I ran to my Fathers office, he wasn’t there. So I ran outside towards the dungeons.

As I got closer to the door, I slowed down, I was about to grab the door handle when everything went black.

BACK AT THE MANOR

“Where did Lila go, what is taking her so long? Nicholi, would you mind going to see if you can find her, please?” I asked.

“Of course my love, I’ll be back as soon as I can.” Nicholi responded.

I leaned over and kissed his perfectly plump lips. “Thank you my love, hurry back.” I whispered.

“Lady Salvatori, it’s Rana, are you alright?” I said as I gently shook her.

She slowly started to stir, then sat straight up and yelled Lila! “Calm down, everything is alright. You passed out and she went for help.” I tried to soothe her.

As soon as I said it, I regretted it. Nicholi came flying through the door. “ It’s Lila, she’s gone!” He yelled.

“What do you mean, gone?”I yelled.

“Heath said he was on his way to the dungeons and he heard a scream. When he got there, he saw a man stuffing Lila in the back seat of a blacked out hummer. She was unconscious.” He spewed.

“FUCK.” I said. “this is not good, if she was anywhere near the dungeons, Alpha Saba heard her.”

Lady Salvatori stood up and walked out the door. She went straight to the dungeons and demanded that she be granted entrance.

She walked through the door and yelled. “Aleister, where is he? Someone took Lila, right outside. I want to speak to the Alpha.”

He walked her in to the interrogation room. Nicholi and I were right there with her, I need her back here.

She walked in and sat at the table. She nodded and said, “Alpha Saba, someone has taken my daughter. She recently told me, that you are her mate. Is that true?”

He looked at each of us first, then said, “yes, it is true. Release me and I will bring her home.”

Lady Salvatori stood and released the Alpha. “Aleister will go with you. I’m sure you both have some talking to do.

I will say this, Aleister. The blending of the species law was created over 200 years ago. I think it is time to change it. Lila is our daughter, I do not want to lose my only daughter to heartbreak. You two bring her home.”

We all went back upstairs and made our way to the manor. Dorian was there waiting. “I’m coming too.” He said.

“How will you find her?” I asked. “I will find her through our bond. Aleister and Dorian will be able to sense her as well.” Alpha Saba responded.

Nicholi and I went to our room while Alpha Saba and Lord Aleister, and Dorian prepared to go rescue Lila.

LILA

I woke up in a dark cell of some kind. I felt extremely weak and had one hell of a head ache.

“Hello, who’s there?” I yelled. Nobody responded. I sat with my knees up to my chest, leaning against the wall, for what felt like hours.

Then I heard the door unlock, it echoed in my cell. “Who are you? What do you want?” I asked.

“I think you know. You, a vampire, have been mated to a nasty dog. We can not allow that to happen.” The mysterious woman said in a raspy voice.

“Who is we? Why does it concern you?” I wondered.

Then I saw two sets of eyes glowing, coming towards me.

“We are Witches. It concerns us because we don’t agree with blending of the species. It throws us all off balance. It was forbidden years ago.” One ugly witch b***h said.

“The Vampires and Werewolves have nothing to do with you. You keep to yourselves anyway. I still don’t see your reasoning.” I said.

Ugly witch b***h number two, stepped forward. She said something so only they would hear, I doubled over in pain. “It doesn’t matter if you understand or not. Sit there and be a good little blood sucker and I won’t hurt you again.” She croaked.

Crazy bitches. No wonder they hide. They would have been murdered long ago. It doesn’t matter, my father will find me.

So I sat there and waited. My head began tingling. I started getting some energy back, then I got really thirsty. They’re close.

Then everything was calm. I felt normal again. I could see, hear, I even had full strength. Probably not what these bitches want but who cares.

Something very large crashed upstairs. Then one of the witches screamed. They’re here!
