Chapter 20: Addition

My hands and legs were bound, and I heard something bubble and breathe on my face. "Now the fun begins, for me at least." "What the **** are you?" I screamed, "where are you?" "I keep forgetting to make the realm a different colour to my own. How about this no-core," the world became white, and I could see the Monster before me. It was black and gooey all over with four legs, large decrepit wings, a long tail, and the same face I had become all too familiar with, but this one had large horns. "White seems too generic," the world shifted, becoming a dark blue, green to blue again before a dark purple was chosen. "There the mood is set, now where was I, o yes, prepare yourself no-claw, death would be better than what I am about to do to you, but that is..." "What the **** are you," I repeated. "You do not remember what I am, but I know all too well of your kind. I am a Dragon, one of the first actually, and thousands of generations ago, your kind hunted mine to the brink of extinction. Though, I am not here to teach you history. I am here to teach you agony," with that, a black tendrill rose up and slashed the air taking my arm with it. I had never experienced an injury like this one before. At first, the stump surged with so much pain that I grabbed it. After a second, the pain faded away, along with the pain on my face. "What the?" The Dragon stuttered," I walked up to my arm and clapped twice with it. "Necroian *****," I stated, "you want pain well, you're not getting any from me," I said, pushing my fear down. I may have pain immunity, but this thing had me, and I could not think of any way to escape. "What about your legs," it replied, black crackling energy building in its mouth and unleashing a dark bolt of energy that disintegrated my legs from the waist down. I only felt a moment of pain as I fell to the ground. Two more bolts of energy blew off my arms, leaving me limbless. "Now you can not move," it said, tendrills coming from the ground and around me. "Hey, you," was the only thing I replied with. "What little smooth-skin?" it snarled at me. "Sorry, I just had to think; I know what Dragons are. You look like a Sludged one. I just haven't heard of one that can talk. Didn't know you lot could." "DO NOT DARE COMPARE ME TO A ROTTING DAGON!" It roared. "Come on though, you look just like a Sludged Dragon. You're even black." Tentacles rose around me to hold me up to its jaw, "tell me, can one of your "Dragons" do this?" It asked. "Well, no," I answered, "they can only emit their element, but I have heard of long-lived Sludged Monsters that could manipulate their Sludge." "Then how do you explain the energy if you are so insistent on calling me a Sludged Dagon." "O tons of Monsters can use energy attacks. Some can even change the colour of theirs." "Fine, what about all of this," it snarled and spread its wings, "how do you explain myself changing the colour of this limitless space." "A, forgot about that, kinda pushed it down, but I guess that doesn't make you a "Dagon." "And how do you explain this," it said, opening its mouth to reveal a shining twisting black crystal." "Wait, could just be an illusion." The Creature roared, "believe me when I say this isn't an illusion, I am the first shadow Dragon, and one of my powers is to control nightmares. I did not create that flower; I was merely able to enter the nightmare it placed you under." The Dragon began pacing around me, "once that nightmare reached a certain level, I was able to pull your body into here." The Dragon lifted me again towards its mouth. I did not struggle. Well, I couldn't. It licked at my wounds then I saw it anger as it tried harder. "O yeah, Necroian wounds seal, just take blood from somewhere else," It plunged its tongue into my chest and tore it out. I was worried I was going to die, but I didn't. I looked at the Monster as it focused on me and tasted my blood. "Have you had a Mother or Father leave you or die?" "When I was very young, my mother died in a car crash. The car was engulfed in blue flames," the Dragon snapped its head to me when I finished. "The name would not be Ulla, would it or a different one stated in a U?" "Yes, Ulla was her name. Do you know her? Is she still alive?" The Dragon pinned me down with a large clawed foot. "You forget who has the power here, little core-less, but I am sure of it, I will answer your question. Your mother was not like you. She has lived countless millennia more than you, and you have inherited one of her magics. Calamancy." I started at the Dragon, "what's that?" It signed in response. "You have bone magic. You can manipulate and create bones." "So I can control bones, cool," I said with excitement. "Indeed though that magic was sealed deep within you in that world," the Dragon smiled at me. "My kind can regenerate, but broken bones are dangerous, though our bones are so strong that a normal Callamancer can't break them. You, however, are already stronger than them and can. Your power shall be a great asset. "Why the **** would I help you? I hate you for making me go through all that ****," my body was restored in an instant. "You will see it from my eyes, but first, you must be broken with pain and death." Suddenly I could feel my body. "You want to kill me, go ahead. I can't feel anything anyway. It's like I'm already dead." With that, the Dragon slammed its front foot upon me. Though the attack hurt my body, it was over in an instant. I opened my eyes. I was still in the shadow realm. "What?" I said, turning my body around. "I control this realm, I can kill and revive you as many times as I like, and now you feel pain greater than any. Now defend yourself," the black Dragon thrust its claws at me again though clearly telegraphed the attack. I raised my hands by instinct, and the blow was blocked by a white shield. I looked at my arms, now coated in several holes. The barrier was made from my bones. I looked carefully at my arms, the bone regenerating most likely because of the magic I wasn't a Bioian. "This is so cool," I said, moving the bone plate around and deconstructing and reconstructing it as if it was second nature. Thank god I had pain resistance. I could tell if I was another human sub-species, I would go mad with the pain. "Now strike me," it said, coaxing me to attack, leaving itself wide open. I formed daggers from the bone and thrust them into its body them sinking it. I pulled them out with a flick of my wrist and caused them to spin and cut into its black flesh. Thank Adam, this magic system was movement-based and not word or symbol-based. The Dragon swept its tail, and I leapt over it. I guessed I took hold of my own bones and lifted them above the ground. We went back and forth for a time, and I grew to enjoy the flow of combat and my power. "Gooooood," the Black Dragon said, as if sensing my enjoyment, a black spike ran through my chest, and agony ran through my body. I couldn't breathe, only blood came out, and I died. I opened my eyes again. I saw the Dragon again. "Hummm, too quick, I think, how about this," my arm stretched until It was pulled clean from my shoulder. "AAA," I screamed, and the tendrill holding my arm slapped me with it. "That is more like it," the tendrils pulled all my limbs were ripped off, and my limbless body fell. I felt spikes skewer my body, and then I saw the Dragon come down upon me and crushing me. I awoke the same way again as before. "Your fear and pain are delicious," it said. "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME!" I screamed. "I told you, this place is my dimension, here I control everything, this is my realm." He roared, "now, as for my reasons, I know you, Humans, like your questions. I do this because I can, and I love it," the Black Dragon circled me, his body just taller than my head. Still, he walked like he was bigger than me. "In here, I can kill you as many times as I want in as many ways as I want, and I feed off your fear and pain for each, and with each death, your body will increase in agony.""Why did you put me through that mental t*****e then and not start with this," I said through my teeth. I would not give this Monster the satisfaction of seeing me in fear. "Yes, though, that was just for your mind. Lets me get to know everything about you, but know I have your disgusting body," I felt something wrap around my neck and my body dangled. Instinctively I tried to free my neck, but I could not reach my neck, "lovely," the Dragon spoke again in its oily voice, "your kind did have the best death methods," I started to gag. I felt the breath leave my lungs for the final time over and over. "Yes, yes, struggle, MORE, you are delicious." I felt myself get spun round and round. It was toying with me. I must not give in, so I held the breath in my chest and let my arms go limp. "Well, onto the next one," the spinning ceased, and I felt something wrap around me and then pull down while my head was pulled up. The subsequent death was beheading, but the blade was dull and slow. Another end was being sliced in half from my rear. Impaled by various long spikes and then pulled apart by said spikes. He would fire at me with dark balls of energy to destroy my flesh. Countless deaths, each one more imaginative and engineered for pain, but each one made me stronger, more numb to the new pain of death. The Dragon flew at me, slamming a foot into me and then taking me up, down, and then smearing me into the ground, but I just appeared in front of him as always."Is that all you got?" I said, brushing myself off and stretching myself, "I can do this forever." The Monster looked angry and shook. "HOW BY ELDAGOON HAVE YOU LASTED THIS LONG? THE OTHERS ONLY LASTED TEN DEATHS!" he roared. "O, I don't know, maybe you just suck at this," I said nonchalantly. "No, I have killed countless throughout my time, and I have done this for many Humans." The Dragon walked up to me and exam at my face, "you may have pain tolerance, not an issue. I am immortal. Even if my body dies, I will still be here, and my core can still function in the real world as I am here with you." "Yeah, depending on the person's eye colour, they have different traits, like I can go a while without eating, live as a head and be tolerant to pain." I shrugged my shoulders, acting as casual as possible, "no one knows why." "If you must know your kind came from mine a long time ago, I have your same passives though to a far greater extent," I walked up and wrapped my arms around one of his legs, "what is this?" It asked in surprise. "Are you doing this cus you want the pain of others to fill in for your own?" I asked, "I know how you feel. My sub-species doesn't have the best reputation due to how many Necroian serial torturers there are. I heard the Dragon snarl, and I sighed. I felt blades run through my back, pull me apart and then hurl me away. My head was on one half, so I shuffled over to my other half, reconnected the two halves at the wound and stood. I readied my bone magic again. If I really was stuck here, I may as well fight back. "It just had to be an Infinant-born Mage I needed," he snarled, "I am sorry, but for what you must do, I need to take away your fear. "Well, sorry for being born this way," I replied, "and I will not you turn me into a sub-Human!" I yelled, sending my bone shards through the air, them batted aside by a tentacle. A black pool came from the purple and Dragons like the one before I crawled out, but they were smaller and didn't have the same back legs as the giant Dragon. They looked like Humans on all fours with tendrill-like wings, tail, and horns covered in black goo. I saw their eyes. They were Human, filled with pain, and their bodies had become feral and mad. "O, so you are literally going to turn me into a sub-Human Dragon Monster thing. "This is what you shall become," It said, stroking one of their heads, "these are those I have broken through deaths, then they absorb a part of me and become my children." They turned on me with one wave of his head and ran towards me, mouths gaping and claws out. I readied more bone blades and thrust them into the belly of one that leapt towards me, sending it back with the impact and into others. One of them flapped to the side and fired a beam of black energy towards me. I formed my blades into a shield to block. The force sent me staggering back, but I charged with wall up against the black ray. I did not know how but I could feel where it was and bash it to the side and send it falling to the ground. I felt one behind me, so I stood on the shield and let it carry me away as it clawed the ground, I sent the shield spinning, but it flew over the blade. I focused my magic on the Creature's wings, and as their movement ceased, the Creature fell, pulling on the saw cut it in half. When I landed, I saw them pick themselves up, the last one even pulling himself together and glaring at me. From her eyes, I could tell they were Pyroian. She must have gained Necroian traits with the transformation. More came from the ground until a large force stood before me. I would just have to stop them permanently. My body had begun to hurt, but not when I used my magic, I knew that I was only using a small part of it. The army rushed towards me. I held out my arms and, grabbing them with my magic, held them in place. I tightened my grip, trying to break their bones, but I couldn't, and I saw that they were slowly moving towards me. Nevertheless, I saw the Dragon's expression change. I contracted on creating more bones than before. I felt my hold on them slip but focusing my will held them firm. Behind me, I felt a vast number of bones and focusing on those before me, I sent them forwards. As they rushed forwards, my legs gave in, and so did the bone lances them falling in front of me. Along my arms, I saw white lines, dim, unlike every time I used my magic. One of them broke through the blockage. "Rookie Necroian Mage mistake overloading your magic," it said. "Word of advice," said another, "use your breathing as a guide," the rushed towards me and stopping in front. No matter how hard I tried, I could not steady my breathing. "Look, I am sure you can deal with your fear yourself, and you already have pain-immunity. Accept Shadagon's blood and join us. We want to save the world." Against everything, I stood. "There is no way out," another said, "just accept your fate." "**** no," I spat, "I will not just give in and let him do with me what he wants, and I don't care if there is no way out. I will fight in here forever if I have to." I felt my willpower grow and the pain lessen. I went to ready my magic for the fight ahead. It did not ready. "****," I ran. Black walls rose around, forming a maze, and I had to run into it. "Your body still feels the pain of each death. In time you shall break," I heard him say from above and firing balls of black energy at me. It was true, I tried to run, but I just couldn't. Everything hurt like I had just done fifty expeditions outside of Walldurus. My body refused to listen. They pinned me to the ground and wildly slashed at me. The big Black Dragon landed in front of me."Yes, I think I should let the little ones kill you over and over and not let you get a new body anymore. Stops the flow, I think." They slashed me, bit and gnawed me, each killing me. My deaths kept going one after another. They would kill me, then he would kill me by crushing me.At first, it was hell all over again. They kept slashing and pounding, my body becoming more and more numb even their wild cries became blocked out, and I listened to the silence. This was my life now; I might as well get used to it. I just laid there, only moving when I was moved until the black Dragon raised his head, getting them to stop. "Enough of this. I taste nothing from you," I could finally move, so I sat up my entire body numb." "Why don't you just end this then?" I replied. "Perhaps a change of scenery will be best," black tendrills held me up and rose me towards him. He slit his palm with a claw and grasped my head with the same claw, "DRINK," he commanded. I had no choice. The tar-like, oily liquid filled my stomach, and my throat burned. I was dropped to the ground, and I felt my body change. The same black substance they were made of was coming from my body, covering it. My limbs turned, I could no longer control them, and I felt my body become a black pool, tendrills wrapped around me and pulled me into a black portal of liquid. I was pulled in I took in more of the black liquid. I tried to scream, but I couldn't. I was now no longer in that purple world. I was somewhere where the ground was white and misshapen. Various Monster skeletons and festering pools littered the land. In the distance, there was a massive wall of white. I still could not move. I was still a pool of black. But I could still see and hear, and what I saw terrified me. There were Monsters of various sizes, limbs and colours; some were as white as the ground. I saw the worst one of all the same Dragon, which kept me for how long I didn't even know, staring at me with a wide s******c grin.
