Seems she still has a way to always pull the strings... It's a good thing that she's family with me but.....
It seems they are fed up with me staying here and want to dispose someone of my standard. I see... Well. I could at least try but am not letting them control me.
As i walked to the cafeteria, pushed the door and went in... It was suddenly silent. Everyone was staring at me as i descend the stairs. Some whispered what i thinks they are whispering...
"The least."
Well i acquired the name because i don't participate in the academy's project. I always leave or felt out of concern, earning the name "the least"... Actually my records are the first of it's kind, all zero..... Like i don't exist in the school.
Like I care about what they think about me.
I just grabbed a tray, package my lunch and left to take a seat... On the way i encounters Scarlet.... Again. Whom has already made friends with some Scouts. But i just walked past as i heard them whispering... Maybe about me again.. Who know.
"If you wanna make friends... I would advice you not to mingle with that one." A female Scout whispered.
"But why." Scarlet asked.
"Well amongst all the Scouts around the academy... He is the weakest and most lazy of us all." Another Scout spoke.
Like hell that I care. Guess they don't know the only reason am here in the first place is because she insisted I came to honour our father's lagecy.. Actually the legacy that was stolen from him by that man.
"Wow.." The hall cheered.
I looked up to see what the cheering was all about to figure out it was him... Again.
The rich spoilt kid who seems to be the school's best, an A+ Scout.
"Orion Draco." A female Scout yelled.
Like seriously you guys need to see how you are all behaving, anyways.. Why am I even contemplating... I wonder.
"Who's that?" Scarlet asked her neighbor.
"That's Orion Draco.... One of the Scouts strongest first class rank A student in this academy." She replied. "He's the brightest in our class."
"I see." Scarlet sighed.
"Look..." The girl giggled excitedly. "He's heading here."
Scarlet made eye contact with Orion as he approach their table, I should just pretend am not even listening to this guy bellow around in my ears cause I can feel my ear drum's beating hard.
Orion is the star Scout in the academy and thus he's famous than even the strongest Scout because of his light green hair and deep green eyes. Blah.... Like who cares.
I stood up and went to the cafeteria to drop my tray and head out of the cafeteria before I get used as a scapegoat again. I brought out another lollipop off my pocket and stuck it to my mouth as I walk out. I saw with the corner of my eyes that Orion has approached Scarlet on her table, I wished them luck though but can't sit around to watch this drama commence. So I head out and let the fresh air blow my face.
.
.
.
It's another day in class and the tutor just left the class for another segment of the day, I wasn't planning on staying for long so I packed my books and slid my back over my shoulder and head out. Halfway to the door Scarlet suddenly stood up and we almost bumped into each other, luckily my hands came in handy as I gave her a little push so we don't impact. I know that will result me getting in trouble with everyone, maybe Orion added.
"Careful..." I spoke. "You don't know when you bump into someone."
"Get your hands off me." She grunts.
That was a cold response I got but I have to shove everything aside and pretend I never heard her say that in the first place.
So I just pushed my way through bumping into her in the process, I could sense her staring at me like a lioness about to devour her prey.
"Don't let your rank make you think you can do whatever you like." I said after I brushed past her. "Rank B Scarlet Hughes."
With those words I commenced outside without looking back at her expression, not that it would matter anyway. Though enduring cold words is my specialty and escaping trouble is my favorite of them all. I moved towards the tree side of the base with my usual gesture... My hands in my pocket and a dangling lollipop in my mouth, I strolled to the far end of the city to my favorite spot. A garden.
At the middle stood a tall and big oak tree which almost felt like it ascend into the sky, I love to climb to the top a lot to see the far end of the floating city of Asia... Ops.... I forgot to mention that we live on a floating city... My bad... Sorry.
After the first Chimera clash to all the cities around the world, the world had to think of safety and work together to build continental base to accommodate the last living creatures around the world. So we transport helpful resources through an underground base transport, but the good thing is that we had a little help from spirits... Tiny little creatures with supernatural powers seemed to come to our aid but we abused them... That's why S.T.A.R gear was created in the first place. To trap spirits and use their ability to fend ourselves against Chimeras. But the chimeras are upgrading and we aren't.
I climbed to the top to see everything as beautiful as it is, the green colors and buildings we manage to put up. As my heart was reaching it's peak, the alarm sounded. Great..... Just great...
Another Chimera attack, but this alarm is only sounded when they are spotted inside the bass. But how's this possible I wonder. And I seemed to be far off the ground and I hoped down and landed with ease and took a swift look from left to right. No one saw me, perfect.
"If I was a Chimera..." I mummured turning around to hear sounds. "Where would I be?"
I turned around for a while before seeing an explosion coming from a distance not too far from me.
"Well what do you know." I smiled. "Chimera can never be stealth."
Speaking of stealth; I too have to be stealth too so no one would see what am up to, so I walked in my usual gesture towards the Chimera scene slowly but steady so as not to be spotted by civilian or Scouts... Seems they are more than one Chimera attacks in this district but I have to go to the one closest to me.
Finally I arrived there to see two Mono-Chimeras battling against six Scouts, so I squatted behind bunch of flowers so as not to be seen as I watch the Scouts fight the Chimeras carelessly. Seemed they are over confident then... Fighting an upgraded Chimera without thinking was sure suicide and I saw amongst the Scouts, Scarlet was in their midst... Great.... Just great.
She jumped back and began to move fast for the human eyes to catch as she lay assault on a Mono-Chimera, then another scout launch a fire-base attack at the Chimeras as they hop up and down the alley.
"They are good." I murmured.
Then the Chimeras suddenly roared as red plasma spread off their bodies like a forcefield, pushing the Scouts back and zapping them at the same time; practically destroying the surveillance too.
The Scouts lay down unconscious as the Chimeras marched towards them, practically to have them for lunch.. Speaking of lunch, I didn't finish mine.
"Damn."
I better step up before something happens and sister would blame me, now that the surveillance is broken I left my hiding spot and walked towards the Chimera all the while dangling my lollipop.
"Well... Seems you're a bad boy now aren't you?." I asked the Chimeras.
As if they heard me they halted and turned around to look at me. Suddenly one of them charged towards me with angry look while the other continued it's journey towards the other Scout.
"Oh no you don't." I murmured.
I lifted my left arm to show my gear as it brights out blue light.
"Freezing." I murmured.
A large spell-base circle with writings around it spreads around me, covering enough space between the Chimeras and the Scouts around me and everything froze... I meant they stopped moving, it was one of my attack base spell. The Chimeras couldn't move and I made sure that the other Scouts around would not wake up soon.
"I better end this before I get caught." I murmured.
"Ok Ariel... Give me your best shot." I spoke and my gear sparked swiftly. "Super Nova."
I moved my left arm in a circular motion in front of me and a little forcefield appeared in front of me, I pushed it towards the Chimeras and it grew big. Big enough to trap both Chimeras in it, after that happened I snapped my fingers and the forcefield exploded.
Destroying both Chimeras at the same time as their remnants dropped on the ground like snowflakes.
"Well that was easy." I sighed as I removed the freezing spell by clenching my fist. Then I turned around to leave.
"Aoi.... Wait..." I heard from behind.
One of the Scouts was conscious when all these was happening.... Damn, please let it not be so oh God.
I turned to see Scarlet staring at me face to face with surprise written on her face.
"Aren't you supposed to be unconscious?" I asked calmly while I threw my head to the right.
"For how long have you been doing this?" She asked. "No... It can't be... Don't tell me it's you."
"Who..." I asked puzzled
"Your are the Hero in the shadows." She spoke.
"Never heard of him." I answered looking squarely.
"Don't lie to me." She yelled.
"Well... What do you know." I spoke as if am not surprised but damn... I am surprised.
"But why hide?" She asked.
"Seems your friends have found you." I spoke.
She turned to see ten more Scouts heading her way, and with her attention deflected by that. I hid myself from her vision as she turned around to look at me. She couldn't see me, am inside a forcefield I created swiftly without her notice.
She looked around to see where I went but never knew I was in front of her, she shrugged before she turned to leave with the other Scouts who had come to help.
"Lady Scarlet.. Are you okay." One of them asked.
"Am fine." She replied.
"What happened here." Another asked.
"I don't know.. I just woke up to see both Chimeras are gone." She replied. "Although I heard an explosion."
"It seems the Hero in the shadow came here." Another spoke.
"I guess... Am lucky to be alive." She remarked.
Without further chat she took the others away with her although I don't know if she will blow off my secret to them. Then am screwed up, for life....
