In the morning after waking up, Amanda quickly washed her face, brushed her teeth, and went downstairs because she didn't want to stay in the room with Carter. After helping Aunt Sari and Mildred with cooking, she went outside for some fresh air and a bit of a walk before seeing Uncle Darwin, who drives for Peter and is also Aunt Sari's husband, cleaning the car.
Soon, Peter came outside, and Uncle Darwin hurried to open the car door for him before driving his boss to the company, with Amanda watching until they were out of sight. Then she walked around outside for a while longer before going back inside the house, where she saw Carter in a suit coming down the stairs. She looked at him for a moment, then diverted her gaze and walked past him without looking at his face.
