Perhaps Demrid’s sense of duty for his nation gave Bella some hope that his response could be different if she asked him like that.
But I was super disappointed!
I would have never voiced this query if she hadn’t caught me off guard. Bella took the advantage of my emotional state and took over my senses, directly questioning Demrid. She was trying to be sure before cancelling him as the option in our lives.
I was expecting that Demrid would reply to this question with a simple ‘Yes’ and resume his speech with the hardships of the North Kingdom. However, his jaw tightened all of a sudden, he clenched his fists and said.
“Not in a thousand years! Why will I endanger my subject’s life for a mere prophecy?
