‎The call to Fajr prayer drifted through the quiet morning as I adjusted the cuff of my white kaftan. Today was supposed to be another ordinary day. Unfortunately, my mother had a talent for making sure no day ever stayed ordinary.my phone starts ringing immediately.

‎As-salamu alaykum ummi, I said while arranging my hair.

‎Wa alaykum as_salamu son, how are you doing and how was your night. l am fine, have you prayed, are you eating well, are you taking care of yourself. she asked at once.

yes ummi clam down and breath l am perfectly fine and Fatima is doing her job well, I replied with a bored expression, pls come for the family dinner this weekend let me see you well, she continue like she did not hear me, ok ma'am answered and then..

‎Since you refused to give me grandchildern, you think you are getting any younger. not again ummi I groan with an eye roll. l'm very busy ummi but I will see if I can make it to the dinner.

‎bye I have to go now , I ended the call before she continue, i went downstairs,

Fatima! I called while coming down.

Yes, sir.. Fatima replied as she rushed from the kitchen while cleaning her hand with a hand towel.

Morning Fatima, I replied with a sign clearly tired of asking her to stop kneeing everytime she greets me.

But you barely touched your dinner yesterday, she said with caring look.

l'm good Fatima and don't make dinner today, i said as I walk out,

‎Good morning sir. to the office John I said and sit at the back sit then watch as the car ride through Abuja, quiet road, cool morning breeze and the sunrise, then i bring out my laptop to start work because I have a lot of work waiting for me.

‎Uche I called my PA in the front sit.

‎yes sir, he quickly sit up and straighten his tie, what is my schedule, he pulled out his iPad, okay sir you have a 9:30 meeting with Chief, and a board meeting with the shareholders at your father company and a lunch date with miss Amina.

I pause for a minute then look up, should I reschedule, No. and what else again. that is all for now sir, good and call Charles to send the documents before I get to the office I told him gets back to my laptop.

‎we are here sir John called from the front sit, I looked up at the glass building before walking inside. Years of hard work stood before me, but today wasn't the day to admire it. I walk towards the entrance and enter the lift to the top floor.

my two secretary said at once, too suspicious for a Monday morning, I nod and walked past them to my office. but was greeted with a complete silence that I know won't last longer.

they both stood and walk out while pushing me aside, can you imagine how scared that girl we arrange for him was last week they started talking about me while going out like I was not in front of them.

I sign as I walk to my my sit with a smile on my face. with bestfriend and brothers like those two, no day is ever boring.
