Tell him I’ll be at Colton’s shop at 3.30. Ask him to be there.” Mr. Pinkerton nodded, almost too excited to speak, and Bull turned to the man who had come up and was waiting to speak to him. It was Walters of the Telescope. “Hello, Bull! What’ll you give me for the key to the Colnbrook Outrage?” The reporter grinned at him. “Anything you like,” Inspector Bull said soberly. “Well, here it is.” Walters fished a letter out of a baggy tweed coat pocket and handed it over. “From one of the Telescope’s better readers.
