Chapter 5: Must Choose

The horned-man is amazed when the little minions stared at him with his clear black eyes. It is not attacking him and does not have any killing intent from his body. 

'Who are you?'

"KrrrrKrrrr" Carl asks him about his identity yet only an unintelligible sound comes out from his mouth. He bit his tongue in shock. 'What? I can't talk?'

The commander observed the little minion reaction. "I didn't know that there's a special minion included in my dominion." his eyes scanned Carl from head to toe. It's appearance is completely normal. There's nothing special if we judge from its looks. But the way it l acted is like a normal being with the right mind. "Should I change from 'it' to 'him'?" The black-horned commander mused himself. 

Five soldiers wearing bronze armor followed behind the commander. "Commander Algus! Should we take it back to the farmstead?" One of the pale green soldiers recommended. 

Carl understood his words. He unintentionally bared his fangs and stared at the soldier with his creased eyebrows. "Krrrkrrrrrr" , 'Farmstead? Are you treating me like livestock?'

Commander Algus smirked at his reaction, "Don't. This minion is intelligent. It is better to kill him right now. If not, then he will come to us for revenge." 

The five soldiers looked at Carl in awe. 'A minion with a right mind? Is it possible?' 

One of the soldiers salutes, then ready his iron spear. 

Carl becomes alerted. They wanted to kill him right now. After he noticed one of the soldiers approached him with killing intent. He grabbed something from the ground. Unfortunately for him, there is only a chunk of meat and no weapon. 

The soldier moved to stab his heart. But Carl dodged it easily. Minions main stats are agility. There's no species who could outrun them when it comes to speed. Sadly, minions are treated as an object because of their inability to think normally.

Carl is speechless. He just moves his limbs, he expected to move a little but his speed exceeds his imagination. In this situation, he couldn't defeat them in speed but he could escape from them. He bypasses the demi-human who's holding a spear. 

"Where are you going?" The soldier with his pale green skin and little horn in the middle of his forehead jump out holding a silver sword. "Commander is right, you are too intelligent compared to your bird-brain mates." He slashed his sword in the air. Carl didn't get enough time to escape. Because the soldier is faster than him. His aura is stronger too. 

"KrrrrrKrrrrr" The sword stab Carl's left arm. Anguish mark on his ugly face. It felt like his strength is depleting.

[Warning! 4 Hit points left.]

Like a system in the game, a system notified him in his mind. With the last remaining strength. Carl agilely backs away from the sword. His dexterous movement let him be far away from him by 10 steps. His consciousness is fading. Green blood drops in the sandland. 

'I wanted to use compensation.' He bluttered in his mind.

[ Ding! Compensation is under cooldown: 23hr and 15mins left. ]

'Damn! What should I do?' He remembered the compensation skill had just been activated a while ago and he still didn't choose a set of skills or abilities. And he doesn't have enough time now. 'Please show me the choices from my converted unluckiness.'

Carl is sweating, he spat out blood. From what he heard from these people being a minion is the worst. But changing a race right now will not give him any benefits. What could the 500 stat points in the chosen stats could do now? Should I use it and put all of it to my defense? Then, will I forever use a defense because I am too weak to fight back. 'Damn! I choose the S Skill (Unknown lvl 1)
