Veronica POV “That’s it! Now end it. Just like I showed you,” Bash encouraged. Veronica grinned, claws extended. With a quick twist, she mimicked slicing his throat while keeping him in a chokehold. Bash gave a dramatic groan and fell backward into the grass like she’d actually killed him. “Tragic,” he said, eyes closed. “I die a noble death.” Veronica burst out laughing, the sound bubbling out of her chest before she could stop it. Even Simon, leaning against the nearby training dummy, gave a low whistle. “Ten outta ten. She finally learned how to kill.” It felt good—laughing.
