The soft hum of the engine filled the otherwise silent car. Veronica had been silent ever since he’d opened the door for her and helped her in.
She’d been fine in the pack, but now he could feel sadness through the bond. Was she sad she was leaving her pack behind? Had she really bonded so quickly with its members and land?
The thought made him nervous. What if she wanted to continue to be Alpha? He didn’t want to do long distance, but he didn’t want to take away something that made her happy either.
Maybe his unit could run his pack while he and Wrenna moved to Veronica’s. But would he be taking away Wrenna’s legacy if he did that? And what about his unit?
Or worse… what if she was sad about going to his pack with him?
