Chapter Nine
For the first time Jo and Nikita met the detachment. Three squads of twelve plus base radio and a face new that morning, a tall woman dressed in civvies.
Anatoly began his talk to the troops. “Our deployment today is cancelled. It seems that some unknown force has removed certain pins as well as a kingpin in the board of illegal activity. We will remain non-operational until further notice. We do have an addition to our company. Lieutenant Kira Pavlishchev has joined us as weapons and armoury specialist. It occurred to myself and Major General Stanislav Kowalski that the weapons store was too open to abuse. The temptation was present to go cavalier. In future requirements for operations will only be issued by Kira or myself.
