The Attack:The First Meeting

1230 Words
It's been 2 weeks since I arrived at Alpha Wayne Temple's pack and so far, it's been peaceful. Of course I resisted hard when I heard where I was brought to, Alpha Wayne Temple was known everywhere . Whoever didn't know him wasn't a Werewolf. He wasn't someone to be toiled with, He had a dark heart, he was cold and heartless, he controlled territories and was said to kill without a flinch. Thinking about him gave me the chills. How did dad get involved with someone like him.. Just how. Getting adapted to this place was hell.. I was scolded for every little mistake.. I mean I wasn't a slave before so.. how was I supposed to get everything right. . I mostly broke the buckets used to fill the drums, or break plates used to serve. I had gotten so fed up and decided to flee but then remembered the tales of those who tried to... They never survived. It was hectic.. Being told what to do always, having no say got myself. Being here, living here, everything was exhausting.. It was so not the life I wished for. Currently I was eating among the slaves all dirty at the general field for slaves. I stared around as I ate watching the people go on with their activities.. Different kind of slaves were here.. Both old and young so they were children running about. I smiled slightly... Despite my pain.. There was something to be happy about.. The smiles on their faces was enough to give me hope. "Serena.. Be done and come clean the kitchen.. Stop lazing around" I heard the voice of the ever commanding chef and I sighed. I was about to continue my meal so I'll answer to her call when it happened. Loud screams sounded from a distance, shattering of things and breaking, roars and smashes filled the environ from a distance. Heavy footsteps sounded from a distance.. Footsteps not belonging to one Werewolf. The slaves around lifted their heads with some standing as they looked to the direction the noise came from. I frowned in confusion standing slowly up as well. “What—what's going on?!” I muttered as the footsteps became closer and soon large werewolves ran into the field heading towards us. “GROWLLLL!!” Their angry growls sent everyone running with screams of terror as they attacked us. I stood rooted to my spot, unconvinced of what to do. My heart began its frantic race from fear. I was confused on what to do.. Run or hide.. My eyes widened immediately I saw a child standing innocently in the midst of the angry Wolves who shredded the weak slaves running. " No.. No " I exclaimed shifting, I ran towards the child grabbing him land placing him at my back. There were other children probably left by the scampering parents. I ran through the distorted crowd of slaves picking up each child I saw on my way. I felt one of the huge werewolves hot on my tail and in the process of trying to escape it with the children at my back, I felt a sharp pain at my side. " Aghhh" I yelped.. I incurred a cut at my hip side. I gritted my teeth not stopping till I found a spot, a firewood gathering, I hid behind it with the kids, shifting back. I made myself a protective shield for them, looking through a hole in the woods what went on. I watched in fear as bodies were shredded into pieces. "No...no.. Don'tttt" A slave Werewolf screamed as one of the attacker werewolves clawed at her chest, killing her on the spot. He growled loudly looking up to the sky's and slowly, his head turned towards my direction. I swallowed trembling , dread clouding every inch of me as I stared. I didn't want to die.. Just not yet. Not like this.. Shredded to pieces. Where the hell is Alpha Wayne.. His pack is being raided.. Shouldn't he be here by now. Where's he now.. Ever since I arrived here.. I had only seen the Alpha once and I had so prayed I never come across him again. His aura was so cold and choking, I had prayed not to see him but now.. I really pray he comes to save us. "Waaaaa" I heard the voice of a child cry and I stiffened staring down at the shadows of what stood behind me. I slowly turned around and just like I expected, two large werewolves glared down at I and the kids. Their lips red with blood. My soul was pregnant with fear, my heart racing sporadically as I adjusted back, I was trembling but I still covered the kids behind me. “GROWL!!” The loud sound sent a shiver down my spine and on instincts, I turned around to cover them with my body. My soul frozen as I awaited death. “Mother, I'm sorry I can't continue to carry your legacy…” I whispered, loosing hope entirely. “SCRAM!!” I heard a loud roar, but i didn't open my eyes. The sounds of nails scraping into flesh and reaching the bones echoed behind me.. And the dieing voice of a wolf finalised it. I shut my eyes tightly waiting for same to happen to me, pulling the children even closer to my comfort.. I won't let any harm come on them even if it meant dieing. After a while, things became quiet, there were no more screams, no more violent shattering or sounds of flesh tearing apart.. Or bones breaking. I was so close to giving a sigh of relief when I felt it again, That same familiar aura that sent chills down my spine, that made the hairs at the back of my neck rise. I slowly looked up to meet a hand stretched out to my face and I fell on my butt as my gaze met the battered body around. “Stand up!” I shivered as the cold and powerfully deep voice sounded authoritatively in my ears. “You’re safe now ” The words echoed in my mind, the meaning slowly interpreting itself. Safe.. I was safe.. We were safe.. I quickly took my gaze to the kids and began checking their bodies for any injuries or wounds but I have a sigh of relief not seeing any. Everything that just happened took a toll on me, I felt my emotions roll up to a crescendo and I buried my head weakly in my palms sobbing softly. I can't belive I almost lost my life. Its been only two weeks here and I've never experienced something like this..infact this is the first time I'm experiencing an attack. I sobbed for a few seconds and looked up to realise the hand was still waiting outstretched . I immediately grabbed the hand with gratitude standing up from the ground. I felt my body tremble from something I couldn't explain the moment I held the hand, and I slowly looked up to meet the face of my savior but I jerked back in shock as my eyes met the frosty ones of the man who saved me. My debtor.. The evil I was sold to. The reason I'm in this messy life of slavery.. Alpha King, Wayne Temple!!
