Alex
Planning on getting fake married to Alison was not on my bingo card this year. Alison had texted me our next course of action. We'd “accidentally”alert the press about our relationship.
I pulled up in front of her house and rang the doorbell. I heard a voice that sounded like my cousin Alicia yell "coming" right before the door opened. I gave her a slight nod, went inside, and sat down on her couch.
Her house was painted in monochrome and was so organized and tidy that one would suspect the owner had OCD, and that just screamed her.
I heard the sound of heels clacking and my gaze immediately went in her direction. Then she came into full view and damn! She was gorgeous.
She was wearing a green cowl neck evening dress which accentuated her curves, and her long dark brown hair was put in a bun exposing her slender neck.
She had mild makeup on which drew more attention to her captivating eyes. I quickly regained my composure and flashed my usual smile.
"You almost look decent when you actually put in effort."
She just rolled her eyes and walked past me, which made my senses were attacked by the way she smelled.
Dear God, it almost drove me insane. I'm starting to think maybe agreeing to be her fake husband wasn't a good choice. I don't see a good ending for me. And just when I thought it was over I turned towards her and got a view of her bare back. The opening hung so low that it stopped right above her ass. Which my eyes immediately went too. Staring at her ass I suddenly feel like a horny teenager.
This is going to one long night. I sighed as I peeled my eyes away from her backside and met the eyes of my cousin who seemed to have been watching me the whole time.
For some reason this girl always sees everything. I knew she saw it because of the wide grin on her face. I just knew this dress was her idea.
We went to a five-star Michelin restaurant. As expected, a reporter was tailing us all the way.
The amount of guys I noticed staring at Alison, probably thinking something dirty, made my blood boil. Out of all dresses, why the f**k did she choose this one?
It would take a miracle for her to not notice how I've been looking at her. Let's hope she sees it as part of the act. This is going to be a long night.

Alison
I'm in this stupid uncomfortable dress that Alicia made me wear. Don't get me wrong, I've worn way more revealing dresses than this.
But this fabric itches me in places I didn't know could itch. Plus it's winter and I'm definitely not dressed for the weather.
I hope that dumbass reporter does his job quickly so I can take off this dress.
Thank God this restaurant has a heater, or I'd be freezing.
I sometimes wonder if Alicia is after my life with these her dirty tricks.
Suddenly, Alex cleared his throat and spoke.
"I don't think the reporter can get in, so finish up so we can go outside."
I nodded in agreement. But internally I was on the verge of tears. We literally just got here, but sure, let's leave my place of solace and go outside in the freezing cold so I can die.
After eating, we didn't order dessert. We just settled the bill and left, and by 'we' I mean Alex. He's already gaining way too much from this. I'm sure he wouldn't mind being my cash cow.
And back to the freezing cold.
I was so cold that I didn't realize the moment Alex took my hands, making me face him as he brushed stray strands that had been tousled by the wind from my face.
I felt electricity flow from the point he touched me to the rest of my body. I knew he was just doing this for the press, but still couldn't control my own body's reaction.
Just then he leaned towards me, his face getting closer to mine. Instinctively I closed my eyes. Suddenly his husky voice jolted my eyes open.
His voice, almost breathless, spoke. "He's watching. Don't move."
That statement was enough to bring me back to reality. I just gave him a fake smile.
His eyes left my face and went to my bare shoulders. He suddenly yanked off his jacket and draped it around my shoulders. This time I gave no visible reaction, but inside my heart was doing backflips whilst racing a hundred miles per hour.
Something was awfully wrong. I tried to remind myself that this was the man that put me in a room filled with snakes and locked me in just for laughs. They weren't poisonous, but I didn't know that.
After a while we decided to walk back to the car. He'd engulfed my hands in his. His hands felt so warm, and a part of me wanted him to never let go of my hands.
Meanwhile, I blamed my strange reaction to my said nemesis on the cold getting to me and that I haven't dated in a while.
Just blaming everything except the fact that I could actually be attracted to Alex.
Maybe the stress from the numerous blind dates was getting to me.
As I got to the car, he let go of my hand, and I almost winced in pain as the warmth left my hand. I entered the car and he drove me home, where I went to question my mental health.
—————————
Immediately I entered my house, I threw off my shoes and the dress, collapsing on my couch. Now I had time to ask myself what the f**k that was. There must be something wrong with me, because Alex? Of all people, him?
I pondered what could be the cause of this strange reaction to Alex. Finding no believable answer other than mental illness, I decided to pour myself a drink. I went to get myself a bottle of vodka and poured myself a glass.
I took a sip and a burning sensation filled my throat. I picked up my phone, and as if on cue it rang. I didn't have to check the caller ID to know who'd call me at this ungodly hour of the night.
I picked up my phone and her voice immediately came through, loud and curious.
"So, how'd it go?"
I instinctively brought the phone away to protect my eardrums.
"It was a fake date. How'd you expect it to go?"
She switched to FaceTime immediately.
"Come on, spill the tea. What happened on your hot date with Alex?"
"I think calling it a hot date is a bit of an overstatement. Nothing happened."
"Please, your face says it all. Something definitely happened."
"My face? What's wrong with my face?"
"You looked dazed, and I hardly see that look on your face. You guys must have—"
"Stop, stop. Fine, I'll tell you everything."
I started from how he picked me up, to him holding my hands and giving me his jacket, to our fake kiss.
I didn't see any cause for alarm. It was just a fake date. But then I came to my strange reaction to Alex.
She overreacted and insisted I was attracted to him. The thought of being attracted to Alex almost made me gag.
I hung up the call after convincing her it was just because I hadn't dated in a while, but I don't think she believed me. After a long and strenuous day, I retired to my room.

Alex
The date was a success by success— I mean I didn’t go crazy holding back from plucking the eyes of those ogling my fiancé.
Yes you heard that my fiancé although it’s a lie I’m going to milk this situation as much as I can.
I smiled as I thought of her reaction to the fake kiss yesterday.
To be honest I was planning on actually kissing her but I didn’t want to scare her away so I settled for a fake kiss.
What I didn’t expect was her closing her eyes was she waiting for a kiss. She was definitely expecting a kiss. The look of pure disappointment when I whispered into her ear instead.
I couldn’t bear to see my wife so disappointed so I held her hand. I broke a smile thinking of her cute face when I held her hand.
And how she unconsciously sulked—“Sir”—when I left her hand.
Baby I also didn’t want to let go—“Sir”—but I have to take you home.
She looked so cute while sulking I—“Sir”
“What!!!” Who the hell was distracting me from daydreaming about my wife—future wife.
I looked up and saw the petrified face of my assistant.
Did he see all that. I cleared my throat.
“How long have you been here?” I spoke in a professional tone.
“A while” he spoke his eyes still widened from shock. He definitely saw everything. Change the topic.
“What is it?”
He regained his composure.
“Oh! The thing you said I should look into.”
He spoke as he dropped some files onto my table. I immediately glanced through it without a word and my face darkened. Just as I’d guessed. Someone is definitely getting fired today.
