I look in the mirror, the cut on my face has healed majorly since Friday, it's interesting how fast wounds heal on the face. When I was eleven I fell off my bike and into a pile of glass. I had a huge gash above my eyebrow. It healed in a week, I didn't even get stitches. But even if I needed them we couldn't afford it. I look down at my watch, the scrimmage game will take us all day I'm sure. Practice is at 11:00 am this morning and it's almost 10:00 am.
"Hey, Siren. I have to take Mom to the Doctors, you're going to have to ride the bus." My mouth drops open,
"You know how much I hate riding the bus Ryan. Can't you just drop me off and take her, they're right next to each other." He shakes his head no. I pout as he shrugs. He walks behind the corner, great. I'm going to be all alone. My Dad has decided to go behind my Mothers back and find a job, he's been itching to get one for years, my mother was always against that decision because of her paranoia, but he's a man; it is his job to provide for us.
If I ride the bus I'll get there by 11:15. I need to call coach. I pick up the landline phone and dial her number,
"Hello?"
"Hi Coach, it's me, Serenity. I was wondering if we could postpone practice for a half hour? My brother is taking my mother out for her doctors appointment so he's making me take the bus."
"I was actually just about to call the team and tell them I won't be able to make it to practice, I'm helping my son pack. He'll be off to college on Monday. If you can, practice at home I want those arms and feet ready by 2:00." She hangs up the phone. I can't practice, I live in a trailer with a dirt road, I hit a wal and the ball will go right through it. I guess I could play with Rhonda and Sunshine until Ryan gets back. I take of my volleyball shoes and put on my slippers, heading out into the bright outside. I squint my eyes and hear my brothers truck fading into the distance. I grab two plates of sweet corn and set them in the pin.
"Rhonda, Sunshine. Foods ready." I see there heads pop up but they lay back down.
"It is hot out here isn't it? Good thing I'm wearing my Volleyball gear or I'd be in my bra and panties." I laugh as if the pigs were listening. I grab the plates and move them back on the chair of my front porch. I throw my slippers on the porch and take off my socks, I walk over to the outdoor spigot and turn it on, water shoots through hose and out the end. I grab the hose and begin spraying the dirt with water. The pigs start snorting in excitement and their curly tales moving. The first one in the mud is Rhonda. Sunshine has always been the one that is hesitant when it comes to water. That is why she is named sunshine, she loves to be in the sun, until it's too hot. Kind of Ironic, I know, but she loves the sun just not the heat that comes with it. I plug the hose into the sprinkler and lay down on the lounge chair-the sprinkler should hit me with some water ever so often to keep me cool.

-L I S T E N-
"Serenity?" I feel a poke in my shoulder,
"Is she dead?" I heard,
"If she is, leave her. We can just go in the house and look for it." That is so rude, and I'm not dead.
"That isn't how we do things carter. besides we can't just leave her body roasting out her." I felt a hand on my chin,
"guys, she's been out here too long, her lips are pale and cracked. We need to get her inside and get her water." I felt hands caress my body, I begin floating, I open my eyes, is this a dream?
"Alan?" I smile. The world goes dark and I land on a soft surface. I felt something cool in my mouth and I want more. That is when I shoot my eyes open and sit up quickly.
"What time is it!" I look and see Stetson in front of me, Alan with a jug of cold water sitting next to me. Carter- is no where to be seen. I raise an eyebrow,
"How did you know where I live?" was my next question.
"Uhm. It's 1:19. And we happen to drive by and see the family name. 'White' on a wooden board." I panic and get up off the couch, if I don't get out there right now I'll miss the bus. I throw on my slides and grab my volleyball bag- running back to the bathroom. I can't forget my volleyball shoes, I literally won't be able to play if I do. I run outside and down the drive way as the yellow bus drives past it. I slow down. I can feel my eyes swelling. Then I look behind me, the three of them still in my house. I jog back. I walk in the door,
"You said you drove here?"
...
I had no Idea how sun burnt I was until the volleyballs began to hit my platform sending a bad sting throughout my arms. I usually don't burn and I just get really, really, tan, I learn something new everyday I guess. The guys stayed to watch me play and I was really happy they were willing to drive me here.
"Hey." Alan says in a low voice. His voice makes my body grow goosebumps and the hairs on my neck stand. I want to shiver but I prevent my body from doing so. He touches my shoulder, I turn around, I get stuck in his gaze, but I wouldn't mind getting lost in it.
"Why did you rush off on Friday?"
"My Brother called telling me my Dad called him and said that mother was having another episode."
"An episode?"
"Yeah, she'll start seeing things- like people. She tries looking for something but never finds it and she'll begin to freak out and start throwing things out of cupboards and furniture." He touches my cheek and my immediate reaction is to grab it,
"Did she do this to you?" I nod my head. His hands are soft but his fingertips are rough. My heart is palpitating. His head pops up and I move his hand,
"Looks like the tide has turned, I have to go Miss. White. Shall I see you in history on Monday?" I place my left hand around my stomach and my right hand over it playing with the collar on my shirt. I nod my head. He walks away, I think I'm falling in love.

-Y O U A R E N O T A L O N E-
I get home late, I notice my brothers truck isn't here and neither is my fathers car. Am I still by myself? I hear the bus behind me driving off, I walk in my house and lock the door.
"Mom? are you here?" I look around, there are no beers or vodka glasses around. I smile, opening the reading room my Dad made for us years ago and slump over on the couch, very rarely do I get peace and quiet and I have gotten it almost all day. I stick my nose into my book and continue to read it.
an hour later
*Door slams opens*
"Get to the bedroom, quickly!" I open my eyes, those voices, I don't recognize. I quickly get up off my couch and peak through the glass doors. Four men in black masks, oh my gosh. I throw my hand over my mouth, my heart is racing. Are we being robbed? What for? We're extreme- the ring! I open the door, this is the most rash decision I have ever made in my life and why is that ring so important all of a sudden? I've never even heard of it until my Mom was fretting about it on Friday. I grab my Dads shotgun and walk to the bedroom, I kick open the door,
"Get your hands up right now!" They freeze, they're tearing the room apart.
"You said no one was home man!" One of the masked men yells.
"There wasn't, she must have just gotten here."
"What are you doing in my house!" One of the men walk closer to me,
"Don't move!" I yelled. But he does and I am too chicken sh*t to pull the trigger. He catches my eyes and they look like Alan's, but they make me feel terrified, I notice my hands are shaking.
"Run, little wolf. Run into the woods." He smiles. I drop the gun and run in fear, I could see what he was going to do to me. I feel cold, my bare feet hitting the damp dirt, did it rain today? Leaves crumple under my feet, I can feel stickers tearing at my skin but I'm to scared to stop.
*Barking* I run about a mile from my home and hit a barrier, I have to push through, I don't know what's preventing me but I must run. I push my hand through and it lights blue, I can feel myself getting tired. I can't run any- I felt a sharp bite in my thigh and I scream, what is happening? I am brought to the ground, the dog won't let go of my leg, in fact, it's biting harder. I grab the dirt from under me, I can't breathe. I turn my head to the side when I notice a gray and black dog- no wolfs, with colored eyes running towards me. Both of them jump on the wolf that is attached to my thigh, that wolfs grip lets go. Another wolf runs towards me, my vision has become blurry but at the last second shifts into a human. He picks me up and runs me back in the direction of my house.
"Stay with me Serenity." My eyes open and close. I feel hot and gross, have I been poisoned? Who is Carrying me? Today has been filled with so much confusion.
I hear my door swinging open but I'm too tired to pay attention to anything else.
Why is my leg wet? I slowly open my eyes, my first reaction is to look down at my leg and notice a white wolf licking my leg.
*SCREAM*
The wolf scoots back, I watch it. I grab a silver stoker and aim it at the wolf. Then it is taken out of my hands, I turn around,
"Why do people always assume you can kill a werewolf with silver? You humans are really gullible." Stetson says factually. I am so confused,
"Humans?" He points the stoker back at the wolf in my living room. I see it turn into Alan,
"whoa." I try to back up off the couch but I trip instead. I am caught by Alan.
"how did- you were- A WEREWOLF!" I feel so stupid, I was telling him about my werewolf story just recently and now, now there is one in my house, or three.
"This is not how I thought you were going to take it." Alan admits. Carter emits from my front door,
"They've been taken care of, none of them had anything on them. They didn't take anything." I look at my leg and it has no bite mark.
"What did you do to me?" Alan looks at me sincerely.
"I sucked the poison out of your leg." Poison? A werewolf is poisonous?
