Trailing Kisses *R18: Dubious Consent*

1158 Words
Hunter felt stuffy as he watched Amara’s expression sour. Following Derrick and Amara’s line of sight, seeing Jenny, he lowered his head and sighed inwardly. ‘Why is love so hard?’ He knew Amara preferred his brother over him, but despite that, he held on, hoping that one day she would realize he was a better fit for her, though he was starting to second guess his one-sided love. As the two in front of him continued to bar the way in, he cleared his throat. “Are we going in?” Amara blinked rapidly, coming to her senses. “I’m so sorry. Please, come in.” Smiling graciously, she moved out of the way but kept an eye on the gift bag in Derrick’s hand. Derrick absently handed the bag to her as if unloading baggage and strode across the foyer to find the others. As a hostess, Amara didn’t have a choice but to wait for Hunter. “You look great.” Amara smiled. “Does it make me look old?” “Not at all. It makes you look sophisticated but not old.” Amara blushed. “Thanks, buddy.” ‘Buddy…’ Hunter grimaced at the word. When they all arrived in the living room, Amara glanced over and found Jenny drinking a glass of whiskey while talking to George and their father. Derrick had just joined the conversation. “The quality of the samples is excellent, Mr. Sinclair. My father and grandfather are pleased and look forward to the actual shipments. When is the earliest you can send over the first batch?” George laughed. “Call me George. My son, Derrick, is handling the project so you two younglings can discuss it on your own. Tonight, I’m here to drink all of Dustin’s whiskey!” Dustin smiled at his old friend, but his sharp eyes fell on Derrick, and he unconsciously gripped his whiskey glass harder. As a man, he could discern the wolfish look Derrick was wearing. Was Derrick unaware of Jenny’s engagement? Dustin decided to test the waters. “I forgot to ask earlier today: How is your engagement coming along? Is there anything you need my help on?” Dustin smiled warmly at Jenny and glanced at Derrick. Derrick, still watching Jenny, merely smiled into his whiskey as he took a long drought. ‘So, the little fucker knows.’ Dustin frowned. While he wasn’t afraid of fighting the Sinclairs, he was reluctant to sour their decade-old friendship. Dustin took a sip of his drink and assessed the situation. Jenny was infatuated with Nathan and insisted on marrying him despite their cultural differences. While he personally didn’t care for Nathan, he wanted his daughter to be happy. Whether she chose Nathan or Derrick was none of his business. However, if Derrick were to force his way into her life, then he had another thing coming for him. Dustin closed his eyes and chuckled. *** Derrick had been watching Jenny for quite a while and could tell she was getting a little tipsy. There was a high probability that she was going to take a quick breather before dinner to compose herself so in preparation he excused himself to use the restroom but waited a little way off. To his satisfaction, Jenny came out shortly after and walked outside to get some air. He followed at a distance as she made her way to a remote balcony on the side of the house. Jenny was leaning against the marble railing, her blonde hair laid across her partly exposed back like a golden veil. Closing the door behind him, he took off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders. Jenny, suddenly enveloped in the warm scent of vanilla and sandalwood, jumped in surprise. Derrick offered an apologetic smile. “I was passing by and noticed you here. It’s cold outside. Why don’t we head in.” Jenny sighed. “You go in. I need to get some air.” She moved to remove the jacket, but Derrick’s hand shot out and held it down on her shoulder. “If you’re going to be out here for a while, you best keep it.” Jenny paused but nodded. Holding the still warm jacket to her body she murmured, “Thanks…” She turned around and looked out at the horizon once more. Derrick stood by her side and the two watched the setting sun in silence. After a while, Jenny spoke, “Why do you always seem to appear out of nowhere?” Derrick chuckled. “What do you mean?” “Ever since we ran into each other at the charity event, I’ve been running into you nonstop. I don’t even see my fiance that much.” “Perhaps it’s fate’s design; ever thought of that?” Jenny rolled her eyes and snorted. Over the past few days, she discovered that Derrick was quite engaging and funny. She had come to appreciate him as a competent individual. “I’m fated to Nathan. There’s nothing in the cards for us.” Derrick sidled closer; his dark eyes brimmed with confidence. “Don’t say that. You’re not even married yet. At least give me a chance.” Jenny felt his hand reach out and touch her side, moving gently across to the small of her back, guiding her closer to his sturdy chest. She blinked lazily as she inhaled his seductive scent. The strong liquor must have played a part in her late reactions but before she could react, he was already leaning down, his lips mere centimeters from her own. Her hands hung limply at her sides, and she simply closed her eyes. The moment his hot lips descended on her virgin ones; it was like hot coals touching snow. She melted into his arms and let him take control. When Derrick noticed she did not resist, he continued, his arms tightening around her waist supporting her as his tongue taught hers the intimate dance of lovers. Pulling away slightly, Derrick’s lips brushed up against her ears as he whispered seductively, “Can I go a little further?” Jenny hummed, still high from the passionate kiss she had always wanted to try. Her wet eyes glimmered as they caught the last rays of the setting sun and Derrick sighed. He lowered his head and murmured into her neck, “You are so damn beautiful.” He licked her softly on the neck and trailed kisses down to her chest as he started to kneel before his goddess. Jenny moaned and closed her eyes, leaning into his hot lips. ‘I can always stop before it gets too far,’ she reasoned to herself. For now, she just wanted to feel his warm touch, to feel physically loved… “What are you two DOING?!” Jenny’s eyes shot open, and she turned to the doorway to see Amara staring at them in utter disgust.
