Love and Hatred

Disaster

All of a sudden I felt nauseous. It’s difficult to explain but my head’s spinning and I’m unusually aware of.. well... everything, my breathing, my heart beating even the world spinning. I felt an energy hover above me until it finally consumes me.

“Iris? Are you alright?” Maya asks worried.

“I don’t know. I’m feeling really weird. It hurts my head”

“What is hurting your head” she asks confused.

“The energy can’t you feel it?”

“No” she says still worried and confused.

“Try and sit down maybe?” She suggests but the feeling just grew stronger and more painful. That’s when I blacked out.

When I regained my conciseness I was in a hospital bed in the academy’s research facility. Here people went if something abnormal happened to them that no normal doctor could fix. These doctors stayed in the academy their entire life’s just learning and researching.

“Why am I here?” I ask the nurse that was looking at a screen showing my heart, I think.

“Your magic levels skyrocketed, you blew up half the block. We couldn’t save all of them but most of the people are well now”. Her answer was emotionless. “How long have you known?” She asks giving me an angry look.

“Known what?” I’m confused

“About you powers. There is no way you could not know.” Her voice is furious.

“That’s enough.” A man in a white coat appeared in the door. The nurse nods before she leaves the room.

“What does she mean?”

“You have an extraordinary amount of power we can’t even read it on our scales.” My confusing only grew. “I believe it’s possible you didn’t know but it makes little sense”.

“Why was she so mad?” I want to know.

He sighs. “Well... she lost her sister in the explosion”. He answers.

“Oh”. I didn’t know at first what else to say. “I’m sorry”. I look down not wanting to meet his eyes.

“We can’t let you out of this room until we understand your powers better. So this will be your home for the time being” I look at him with chock.

“You can’t.” I tell him.

“We can and we have too.”

“What about my friends?” I wan to know if I would be allowed to see them. Maya! I realize. Was she okay?

“They can’t be here” He tells me but I have other worries now

“What about Maya? Is she okay?” I’m afraid to find out

“As she is studying combat magic she was quick to protect herself but she got hit very badly”.

“Is she okay?” I yell trying to sit up but now I notice that I’m tied to the bed. He takes a step away from me.

“She is in a coma at the moment but she’ll most likely wake up” He says but he seems to be scared. I however can’t care less about that now, I was feeling terrified. Did I kill my best friend? Would she really wake up? I start to panic. Why am I tied down?

Before I can even notice the doctor gives me a shot of something.

“What’s that?” I ask

“You need to sleep for now”

I can not even answer him before the room goes black.
