I kept to the ground. My arms were wrapped around my torso as silence filled the air. "Get her another shirt, Jesus. And cancel my appointments for the day." I didn't even dare to look up as the huge hippo left the room. "Why are you dressed as a man?" I ignored him. He got me into this situation, he is going to get the silent treatment. "I asked you a question, answer me!" I suddenly felt extremely cold. "I have no reason to tell you my secrets. They are mine and mine alone." I felt my jaw pulled on and I was looking into a mass of dark green. "Tell me." His look was cold, in contrast to what his eyes can promise.
"Why should I!?" All this is making my heart pump faster. I was feeling lightheaded. "You drag me to god knows where and I'm supposed to answer your questions?! Get your facts straight you Jade!" Something washed over his face as I growled, something I learned from one of the little kids from the park. "You're more of a man than a lady." That hit my heart. Badly. It's not like I wanted to live a lie. I just have to. "Don't judge others for something you know nothing about." It went cold as his gaze went to a glare.
"Don't speak of such things, that you know not of." He left go of me and my footing came undone. I fell on my back. Almost a complete view was in front of him. "Master I got-" Something was dropped on top of me as I struggled to sit up. I didn't dare open my eyes. I felt completely exposed. Completely naked. I wrapped it around me as whispers occurred above me between the two Jades.
"Get up you quean." I choked for a second at the name. A quean?! A QUEAN?! I'LL SHOW HIM A BLOODY QUEAN! The cloth was ripped off my head and I put on my iciest glare. He froze for one second and I kicked him where the sun don't shine. A phrase I learned from my aunt and her friends. The huge figure fell with a thump as he held the area lower than his stomach. A sound came from his hidden face as I scrambled to stand up. The cloth was in front of me and I wrapped it around my bare shoulders.
Auntie would die of a heart attack if she saw me like this. I smiled slightly at the thought. I could show up at her front door like this and she would faint at the mere sight of me. My grin got wider but it disappeared when I felt a force make me hit the wall. "Are you a witch?!" I looked into the dark green eyes that were captivating. "Answer me!" I gasped as something lay on her corset. I did the only thing I could do. I bit his lip. I pulled back and bit down hard. He yelled and cursed while backing away. I licked up the blood traveling down my jaw and spit it out.
"I'm not a blasted witch! I'm a woman hiding from something you need not know! Now take me home you Jade!" It went silent, except for the whining of Jesus on the ground. A staredown had made the room colder than before. "No. I will not. You have caused this. I will not obey such a disgraceful thing that dares call herself a woman." That hit me right in the heart. A memory resurfaced.
"Remember, Milly. Never let anyone tear you down and always be a woman, even if it's a wrong woman. Promise me, Milly. Promise me." I felt the tears gather until the fell down my throbbing cheeks. "And you dare call yourself a man! Injuring a woman that is not your wife?!" He stepped back. A look flashed across his face. "Even if you were my wife I would not intentionally hurt a woman." I scoffed. "Every man hurts a woman, wife or not. You are no different." His eyes narrowed. "And do tell why you would know that wench." I rolled my eyes. "I was a fi-" I slammed my hand over my mouth. "You were?" He took a menacing step towards me. "Nothing to which you should know!" A cold smile suddenly spread across his face.
"A deal milady." He bowed. Confusion struck me like a cat might pounce on a small rodent. "A.. deal? To what supposed of a deal from a fopdoodle would be? This better not be a bit." He looked up with a smile. The one you should never trust but I felt in my heart, the non damaged part, that he wouldn't do anything as bad as send me to jail. I heard some of the jails were quite cruel. Especially to women. "Work as my private secretary and I shall not exposed who you truly are a secret. And you will keep my extra activities a secret from the world." I glared at him. He better not be tricking me. "Deal, but if I find out you lied." I grabbed the extended hand and shook it. He kissed the back of it. I rolled my eyes.
"Keep your filthy man paws off of me." I ripped my hand from his grasp and hid it underneath the blanket, still feeling the heat and buzzing his lips left on my hand. I rubbed it as he stood up straight. I saw Jesus in the background, standing like nothing had happened. He better not try anything. Marriage to that scoundrel has shown me what a man and woman relationship is really like and I'd rather not experience that again.
