We are greeted by the warm scent of hot chocolate and freshly baked cupcakes. "Mei, Lexi," a middle-aged woman waves. "Come along dears." She has a kindly smile and has run this café since it opened more than twenty years ago. Her hair falls in short grey waves around her neck. The café is large but has a homely feel to it, with both open tables and cosy booths. The main counter is close to the front of the building, with a back room where the baking and food preparation takes place. "If you'll just follow me," she says waving us behind the counter, as another young girl takes an order from a customer, who I just so happen to notice is a vampire.
